You describe exactly what I'm like. I get depression and anxiety too. Sometimes I have times that feel life is a struggle but I know the best thing you can do for your brain is keep busy and active. I go to the gym for my brain more than my physical looks! You may need a hobby or interest- do things or be around people that make your soul feel good. Sometimes it's easier said than done but you really have to make an effort. I even think I should see a doctor sometimes but I'll do anything which will prevent me from taking prescription drugs that can mess you up even more in some cases! I will add, I know some people do need to take pills if they have a serious mental problem but I always think trying to feel good the natural way should be the first option. It is part of our personality but we can control it.
I hope you can help yourself and feel some sunshine in your life :)

It sounds as if you are pretty depressed and have been for a long time. You can be depressed, even if you think you have nothing to feel depressed about.
You should go see a psychiatrist so that she/he can tell you what kind of depression you have, give you prescribe some medication and hook you up with a therapist for support. You don't need to suffer with depression and melancholy. Depression is very comon among teenagers, adults, and sometimes young children. There is help for it, though. You just need to go and get it.
Take care.

Before you consider taking drugs for this, prescription or otherwise, check that your diet is balanced and you are getting plenty of exercise. Then try listening to different kinds of music, if you find what suits you its a more holistic solution.
The right kind of music works wonders for me.
It is important to socialise, join a club or a night class, volunteer somewhere, meet people. Focussing on other peoples issues can improve your self-esteem.
Most importantly, you must understand that a lot of people are affected by this and find ways to deal with it. You can control this if you want.
If all else fails, speak to your g.p. and he can recommend a specialist.

Agrippa said 'Melancholy was the road to wisdom and revelation' so chin up things can only get better. It was thought that Melancholy was born from the influences of the planet Saturn. Hope these thought cheer you a bit.

You may have a chemical imbalance. If it bothers you or holds you back, you can see your doc about it.
