The stored sperm packets carried by a female guppie don't last forever. It might make an interesting experiment to see how many clutches one female could produce from one insemination,I've heard that it can be as high as 6 or 7,but I've never tried it myself. Another interesting aspect might be to raise the different broods separately and observe the differences in growth rate, sex ratios, number of fry and general over-all quality of the fry. Ooooo,it's starting to sound like a masters thesis already. If you try it, keep records and let us know where you'll post them.

Depending on how mature the female is, the older she is, the more fry she'll drop. For first time moms, my guppies usually have anywhere from 5-10. As they mature, the numbers increase well into the 30's and even 40's. You can expect to have a litter every month for the next 6 months or so since female guppies are able to store the males' sperm for months after just one act of mating.
Good luck! Get at least a 10 gallon tank with plenty of plastic or real plants and rocks to provide your new fry with lots of hiding places so mom doesn't eat them. Guppies can be fun to breed and also exciting to create your own varieties after several generations of crossbreeding and experimentation. Make sure you get a heater to keep the water nice and warm. Guppies mature faster in warmer water and the mothers also take less time to have the babies mature while they're pregnant.

It depends on if she has ever been in a tank with a male or not. If she has then she can have baby's long after she was housed with the male. If she's been with only females her entire life then no worries you will only have one fish. If she is preggers, then she will have fry and more than likely there will be a male in the bunch and he'll mate with her and all of his sisters resulting in a large guppy population. I always keep two tanks when i have guppy's in a community tank, one of carnivores (oscars usually) and feed the extra guppy's to them. That way i know for sure they arent going to get some kind of disease from the feeder fish at the store, and i dont end up with 1,000 guppy's i dont know what to do with.

I think the answer will be one- her. Buy a guppy even if she is pregnant when she gives birth if she is a juvenile she will eat the young. If not fish in tank will eat as well. We had only 3 survive coz our pregnant guppy ate them as she pushed another out!
Guppies who are pregnant can give birth pretty quickly after moving them (ours was 1 hour!) so be prepared with a fry net if you want to try and keep them alive.!

If she is pregnant you can end up with her giving birth every 2-3 weeks for around 6 months. I have had a single guppy give me 40 babies, but i have also had one give birth to only 17. Your very right she can continue to have offspring for, i think for six months, without coming into contact with a male.

no longer ideal! the final ratio with any stay bearing species is 4 -a million nonetheless maximum folk use 3 - a million. Any much less and the girls are constanly being hassled via the boys! this could reason rigidity suitable ailment like white spot, and may even reason the feminine to miscarry. If i improve into you i might the two purchase 2 extra women or basically purchase a million male. i might in basic terms evaluate breeding nonetheless in case you recognize which you will locate residences for the fry. If the tank is truthfully planted and there are hiding locations and no larger species interior the tank, some will survive without you doing something.

Guppies can be mated with once and give birth to babies for 6 months. So if she is pregnant you could end up with alot of guppies.

Why is she bound to be pregnant? And why would she have more without a male?

There is some info about guppies, and it should help you with how babies are made...
PS - Guppies are live bearers, they do NOT lay eggs...

If you have other fish you'll end up with no extra fish as the babies will all get eaten, unless you seperate them straight away.
If you have any male guppies you'll also end up with no female as the males will s**g her to death. The best ratio is 1 male to 6 females, male guppies are sex mad.

If you don't separate mama from the babies immediately upon birth, you will have one female guppy. Considering you do have a breeding tank for her, then expect a population explosion and multiply it by the unknown x.
