Wow, I'm still trying to figure out how these morons can JUSTIFY Ohio State being in the BCS Championship Game, and not Hawai'i or Kansas.
Let's see, Ohio State din't WIN a conference Championship game. Hasn't beaten ANYONE ranked in the top 20!!!!
How do you vote Ohio State #1, and NOT Hawai'i??? or Kansas???
By mere name recognition alone.
What a JOKE!
Your thoughts?

Dear State of Woo...I got my facts right. Learn how to read!
Now, as I asked earlier...which team do you think it was that catapulted OSU into the BCS game??? (Note, I said OSU didn't WIN a copnference CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!) The Big 10 doesn't play a championship game because they're simply SCARED it would cost one of their teams a shot at the BCS.)
Nice try...woo

Donnie, you just proved my point regarding Hawai'i or Kansas...whom did they beat? So I ask again: Which team was it that LAUNCHED OSU into the BCS: Akron? Youngstown State? or Kent State?

Perhaps it's not so much what OSU did this season compared to what the other teams DIDN'T do....
So now it's OSU's fault that the other teams in the top ten were taking on gas at the close of the season and dropped like flies?
This is just a classic case of "who is the last team standing"? It just happens to be OSU. Just b/c the Big Ten doesn't have a conference championship game, OSU still won the conference by beating U of M.
Honestly, there really isn't one team in the top 10 that has consistently handled their business week after week and dominated every last opponent. All the teams are medicore this year.
You also must remember that when the voters vote, they consider ratings and revenue. Do Kansas and Hawaii *really* have the draw that OSU and LSU have? Seriously?
I'm not condemning or condoning the process. It's flawed and everyone knows it. But I'm not so sure you wouldn't have called this a joke had USC (two losses) made it to the NC game....or Georgia (now that's a team who TRULY didn't win their conference), or even Kansas (who didn't win their championship either).
If they're going to put a two-loss team in the title game, it should have been Oklahoma. And if you really want to talk about a team that got the shaft, look no further than Mizzou.
What? You expected a nice, clean convenient ending to a crazy, upside-down season?!
LOL.
Cheers :-D

I think it was the preseason win over the Central Ohio School of Typewriter Repair that really catapulted OSU into the National Title game. It's amazing how a team can be rewarded for not having to play conference championship game. Oh well, maybe the name recognition won't mean as much after they get rolled again by an SEC team this year.

Well they did beat Michigan badly and Penn State and at their home stadiums so that should count for something. Did they play Wisconsin? If so, they beat them too. I have more of a problem with LSU being there because they have 2 losses and should of and could have got beaten by Alabama and Auburn if not for some poor referreeing in my opinion. I agree that someone with one loss should be at least playing Ohio State though like Kansas or Hawaii.

It has to be the loss to Illinois since it was a close game and against an eventual BCS ranked team. If folks think my answer is absurd then so is OSU being ranked Number 1.

Great points. And how does LSU jump 5 spots after a lackluster perfomance against an average Tenn team? If all scenarios played out just the way they did this weekend but it was week 4, would everything be the way it is now? No. UGA would be #2. LSU would probably be 4th.

Neither Ohio State, Kansas, or Hawai'i has played any substantial teams. None of them deserve to be in the BCS title game.

first of all, THEY ARE PROHIBITED BY THE NCAA FROM PLAYING A CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP. a conference must have 12 teams and two divisions before they are allowed to have one. they also did something else no one seemed to be able to do...only lose one game. who did Hawaii beat that was so impressive? was it their last second field goal over louisiana tech??? Kansas' schedule was easier than Ohio State's.

what has Kansas done that Ohio State hasn't?
that right there tells me that you don't know what you're talking about
they try and schedule tough opponents (Texas and USC as examples)
why not grow up and leave this argument alone
it's not their fault the Big 10 was down this year
....and it's not like they were playing in close games either....they handled business
a ton better than Hawaii

Who should be there? Mizzou? WV? Whoever said Georgia should play over LSU is retarted, Georgia didn't even get to their Championship game. Tennessee mopped the floor with them. LSU's only losses were in triple overtime. I personally think the Sooners should be playing for it, but I think everybody can agree WE NEED A PLAYOFF!
