There it is, with my car keys....

*****
My Car Keys

Highway signs
White solid lines, transfix
Engine noise, tires humming
Headlights dance entoptic circles
Amber glass reflections
Cool air blasts
Eyes open
Adrenaline current
Rumbling corrugated warning
Snaps awake, from the edge
Take back control
From the demon
At the wheel
Sleeping
*****

Fantastic rhythm pattern!

How do you do this? It's magic...

EDIT: that's not fair! Now my comment is no longer witty. Good poem, by the way.

WOW! Playing with drowsiness behind the wheel is way risky! You've got the highway down pat with your images...don't you just hate it when your tires hit that ripply stuff on the shoulder...meant to wake you up? It always startles me into swinging back on the road too fast!

Yes, this is excellent...another candidate for submission!!!
