I wouldn't be ready to give them that title.
Statistically, I would wager that there are quite a few QB's who are having phenomenal seasons; however, as we all know, statistics aren't always the best way to judge a qb. Rule changes, the west coast offense, and other such offensive philosophy developments have changed the game so much that it really is impossible to compare today's qb's to the all time greats. For instance, Carson Palmer has a career qb rating of 90.4. Palmer is a very good qb, but comparing him to some of the "old guys" is ridiculous. For instance, Terry Bradshaw only had a qb rating over 90 one season in his entire career - and that was in a season where he only threw 8 passes. Even Marino (one of the best statistical qb's in NFL history) only had 5 seasons where he had over a 90 qb rating. Marc Bulger has already had a rating over 90 in 4 out of his 5 complete seasons. He isn't even mentioned in most discussions of the top 3 qb's in the league right now...
As the game developed, statistics have become skewed. It is impossible to truly compare qb's across different eras.

i replaced right into a huge fan of Pat White for the era of his profession at WVU and observed many video games in Morgantown the place Pat replaced into only extra special (alongside with the 2005 Louisville vs. WVU pastime wherein he made his freshman debut: a magnificent comeback win which took us by using 3 O.T.'s and eventually a typical of many huge wins again.) regrettably, he's far too small to play quarterback interior the NFL and can be a huge legal accountability for any team that placed him in that place. He could desire to objective out as a WR, yet his ultimate wager, such as you stated, is enjoying for the Angels. Pat has the main useful arm i've got seen from a guy that length yet he's not the style to study defenses all that nicely. My gut, says that he's going to supply the WR element a shot, yet will finally decide to play for the Angels!

I disagree. This is probably one of the worst years for mediocre quarterbacks that I've seen in a long time.
Marc Bulger, Brian Griese/Rex Grossman, Alex Smith, Phillip Rivers, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, etc. -- all are performing at poor-to-mediocre. Even Peyton Manning hit a bit of a slump with injuries to the Colts.
The only major standouts this year are Tony Romo & Brett Favre.

No, there are two good QB right now. Think about 1989: Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Brett Farve, Dan Marino, Terry Bradshaw, Phil Simms, Warren Moon, Boomer Esiason, John Elway, and Joe Montana.

Not necessarily. True, there are contemporary quarterbacks who could be considered SOME of "the best ever" (Favre, P. Manning, Brady, Romo, and a few others come to mind)...but by no means just this year's. There are plenty of retired (or deceased) quarterbacks from decades past who are also some of the best -- if not THE best -- in the business: Montana (first one to mind -- an unprecedented FOUR Super Bowl wins to HIS name, plus numerous records), Young, Marino, Aikman, and some others preceding them are right up there.

Well, Tom Brady does come to mind. But who else? Peyton Manning is having a down year, Carson Palmer has a QB rating of 87 (21/15 TD/INT ratio), and Eli Manning has thrown 17 (!) interceptions. Vince Young has thrown twice as many interceptions as TDs, and (brace yourself) Jon Kitna has been sacked 47 (!!!!!) times. Plus, the Bay Area QBs SUCK, and nearly a third of the starting QBs have completion percentages below 60%.

I think so.. I remember Troy Aikman, John Elway, Dan Marino, Steve Young, Joe Montana...gunners on every team. We are starting to have that again, with the likes of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, Drew Brees (well not really this season) but QB's are coming back.

The Best ever??? JOE Montana was great, Dan Marino was great even though he didn't get a ring. There are exceptional talent in the football league this year and their name will go down with the great, but the best ever that really might be stretching it.
