i've tried to put it off, but every day she asks me 'where do babies come from?' and 'how do you become pregnant?' She won't fall for the 'stork' story, or any other crap, so what do i say?

Your daughter has reached a point in her life where questions about sex and pregnancy are of a very real curiosity to her. Perhaps she starting a bit early, or earlier than you'd like, but nonetheless her curiosity is very real, and she is in need of real answers. If she is mature enough to realize she needs to seek the truth from her parent first, do not let her down. She is ready for answers, she wants them from you, and she's smart enough to know when you're telling her a tall story. Tell her the truth, and she will continue her trust in you as her source of life information. If you would like to be your daughter's first and trusted source for the truth about love, sex, boys, and how to become a wonderful young woman, be available and always tell her the truth.

She has probably already heard plenty of interesting stories on this at school. I know this is hard for parents but better from you than her little friends.

Just start with the pieces and parts, giving them proper names not made up baby names. Answer her questions honestly, try your best not to shy away. If you feel strongly about her only having sex after she is married now is a good time to put it in context. When you are older, fall in love and get married you will do this with your husband..ect

Then just keep the anatomy lesson to the bare bones, no need to get into every little detail all in one conversation, spread it out over a little while. As she continues to asks more questions give her more answers so as to not be overwhelming. Also dont forget not all her friends will know everything or even the correct 'things' so good advice might be to keep this in the family. You dont want other mommies calling you up to say your little girl is now the school know it all on the birds and bees....;-)

the truth as much as she can handle it. My mom had my brother when I was 4 and she started then with "the baby grows inside the mommy". She doesn't need to know gory details, just the very basics. If it just embarrasses you too much, I recommend an old children's book (from the early/mid 70's that's still in print) called "Where did I come from" by Peter Mayle.

Tell her the straight truth. I never had this problem, raising kids on a farm, they'd been watching procreation take place all their lives. I just had to make sure they knew the details. Ah, modern life. There are a number of books to help you with this if you're really stuck. Go to a large book store with a a section of educational kids' books, and browse the health section.

tell her the truth but in a grown up way.the more u talk about it the less chance of her making reckless experiments when shes older.
dont laugh or look embarrased coz she will pick up from that

Say that Mums & Dads have a special hug which combines the parts of them to make a baby from each of them.

Or something like that !

Lol ! When I was eight I guessed how it worked.

At 8 she is bound to be curious, talk to her and explain it all to her, I will probably get reported for this but I have always been naked indoors so I found it easy to explain to my daughters their bits and mine.
Please don't try to feed her crap otherwise she could get herself into trouble because she doesn't know the truth.
It isn't easy but good luck mate
