Simply, LSU won the SEC, Georgia did not. Had they won their half of the conference and played and beat LSU, they would probably be playing for the national title.

An argument could be made for USC, Georgia, Oklahoma and LSU. I personally think it should be Georgia, but they didn't even win their division let alone their conference. According to the system currently in place (which I think sux) the two best teams are playing for the title. Georgia is probably THE HOTTEST team RIGHT NOW but to get a shot at the title you need to be hot all year, especially in the difficult SEC. The only problem I have is that Georgia was right behind Ohio State coming into Saturday and neither team played but only Ohio State moved up, it should have been both teams.
On a side not: Mizz got the biggest raw deal. How are they not playing in a BCS game?

Now, next year, we can all hate on OSU and LSU will be silent or have red faces at the beating OSU gave them. The BCS gave it to OSU by giving them LSU. Georgia would have done another Florida to OSU and it wouldnt be favorable to the BCS system for that to happen, so LSU got the bid. Since when did the BCS worry about who was the best team in the nation? They only worry about money and popularity of the teams. Thats what matters most because that is what fills their budget each year.

Lsu had a stronger strength of schedule than Georgia did. Beating Virginia Tech earlier in the season and then having the Hokies win the ACC in my opinion shot LSU up to the 2 spot.

I agree. Georgia has more of a right than LSU to play in that game...and while we're on the subject, how about OKLAHOMA? Those kids are an awesome team and I think they also deserved the spot more than LSU.

Yeah but right now LSU and Ohio St are probable the best options. They are most likely the two best teams.
This is why college football desperately needs a playoff system.

Definitely Georgia should be in. first of all Lsu was 7th in the BCS how did they get to #2. also if Georgia didn't't`t lose and didn`t play how can Lsu jump over them.

Georgia didnt win their conference, If they put Michigan in the Championship last year you could make a case for them. Just shows how screwed up the BCS is ran.

Georgia, Missouri and Hawaii all got screwed courtesy of the BCS.
Georgia should get the title game.
Missouri beat both Illinois and KU and got nothing.
Hawaii goes undefeated yet gets no shot at the national crown.
Ah the wonderful Bullshi..I mean BCS.

I'm waiting for someone to show me where it says non division winners can't play in the NC game. How about teams that don't have to play in a conference game? They shouldn't play in the NC game either. Esp. when they back in and play 1 team in the top 20.
