My son and wife have had a new baby. ( She was married before and has two brown eyed children and she too, has dark brown eyes.) My son has brown eyes and I have green eyes, my parents had (mother) blue, (dad) greyish blue and my sister has green as I do . The baby's mother has broiwn, her parents also have brown and we question where the baby's beautiful blue eyes came from ? Many people have made the sad comment, that she must not belong to my son as both he and his wife have brown eyes. Sad part, my son's wife, (baby's mother) became pregnant soon after they met, which he has no doubt as his, but I am tired of others making the comments to question if she is or not. I have read it is possible for two brown eyed parents to have a blue eyed baby, is this true? To me, the baby has her "great grandmother's" eyes , exactly? Help me to relieve my mind and the questions that my son has asked since others have brought up that the baby must not be his. What are the chances of brown eyes having blue eyes in babies? Is this my mother's eyes from inheritance coming out in my grandbaby? She looks like my son as a baby to me, but not his brown eyes. Thanks !

How old is your son? Most babies are born with blue eyes and they eye color changes to brown before they turn one year old. So your son's eyes might change to brown. Other than that, he may have inherited his grandmother's eyes, but I'm sure you won't love him any less.

If you love the baby and the mother of that baby I don't see what difference that eye color would make. If your parents had blue eyes then there you go. If someone has a different race in their background from many years back that too can show up without rhyme or reason. If the baby looks like your son at that age then most likely it's your son's child. My friend recently had a baby with red hair and freckles and her husband was very upset but it is 100% his. Just charish your grandbaby's blue eyes, many people would love to have them :)

Clearly, since there are blue eyes in the family, it is possible. Babies are born with blue eyes and they change over the months, so depending on the age, they may still change.
I have blue eyes, as did my grandfather, and at least one Aunt. My husband has hazel, but his mother and brother have blue...so you would think that at least ONE of our kids would in fact have blue eyes!!! NOT the case!! All three have darker eyes than my husband.
I guess we cannot be suprised in this age of TV paternity tests that people would openly say things to question this childs father!! Pretty rude if you ask me!!! I am sure not all them have the same color eyes as their fathers!!!

*and it is possible for two brown eyed people to have a blue eyed child. Mine both had brown eyes.

Maybe this can help:

Anything is viable! I was once watching into it too while I was once pregnant, simply to look. I have one blue and one multicolored eye, and my husbands eye colour turns out to difference among brown and inexperienced. From what I learn, with inexperienced within the photo, something is viable. Brown is dominate, and blue is recessive. If you already know the attention colour of each mom and dad mom and dad you'll be able to chart what the percentages are of every colour. You particularly may not recognise for certain till the youngster is a 12 months and even older. They will most likely pop out a slate blue colour, and difference during the primary 12 months. My boy has blue now. He is three months, and began with the darkish slate blue colour. We did simply be trained that my husbands eyes had been blue till he was once approximately a 12 months. Then, they appeared to difference over night time to the lovely inexperienced brown colour they're now.

First of all it is so rude for people to say that to you , your son and daughter in-law.

As for genetics I know zero. I do know that in my family I have brownish/green, my husband has brown and we have 2 kids with brown eyes and one with blue eyes. We have some blue eyes on both sides. Obviously, the day my son with blue eyes was conceived the dominant blue gene won. It's just that for your grand kids. Tell people that the dominant gene won on that day. Those people are so insensitive.
I hope I helped. Good Luck.
