I got guild wars factions from my friend yesterday and i installled it and when i went to create a character, it said i needed a code to play. So i looked in the box and in the manuel and i couldn't find it. So if anyone can tell me where it is located, that would be very helpfull.

Check the CD case, usually it is on or in it. If not, then there will be a small card (usually sealed) inside the box that has the code on it. Guild Wars codes are 25 digits long, if that helps you find it. Your friend might not have included it in the box if it was already opened, because the game would have asked him for a code as well.
If you friend already used the code, then you will not be able to play Guild Wars without buying a new copy. Each code can only be used once, and are required to create a game account. The code is what you are really buying when you get a copy of Guild Wars, the CDs and manual are just extras.

Your friend probably has the code...you got it from him instead of a store..
