Because many of them do not realise when something is being said tongue in cheek.

Also, appreciation of irony is often in short supply. For example: Alanis Morissette listed a whole string of scenarios in the song 'Ironic', and then asked the listener to agree with her that they were ironic. Well of course none of them actually were ironic. Now that's ironic!

Good song though.

I'm kidding by the way.

P.S. Cyanide - You do know that that was Australia don't you? If you do, then I will feel very silly pointing this out to you after what I just said about Americans! ;-)

As an American I take my freedom of speech very seriously. In many other countries there is an ingrained fear of persecution for offending someone with your opinion. Here, if you feel strongly about something, you speak out. No one has to listen, but you have the right to speak.

Screw you ,you wimpy asss foriener, the next time you need someone to bail your sorry asss out of a military conflict who are you going to call? Who saved your asss from 2 world wars, who invented just about every modern convience in the world. Who stoped comunism expansion. Who had the balls to leave the east because they thought their country sucked. Americans, THAT'S WHO! God bless America.

Boy that felt good. now I won't have to shoot someone on the way to work this morning.

because for the most part, all their basic needs are met, food, shelter, clean water, safety, so they have time on their hands to get upset about stuff that really doesn't matter. I am an American and lately, I have become rather discouraged about us as a people. Seems we have become selfish little complainers, who have no balls....
