I always say that actions speak louder than words. So lets see some of Bush's actions:
1. Free Speech Zones
2. Indefinite detention of people, even American citizens
3. No attorney for those detained
4. Torturing people?
5. Warrantless searches and seizures
6. Warrantless wiretaps
If he doesn't think that it is a piece of paper, he has defiantly shown that the Constitution is not to be respected.

You should point to the original source of the article if possible, which in this case is Capitol Hill Blue
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7779.shtml
I think it has more validity than alot of other stories you here about them, and nobody has been able to disprove it and Capitol Blue seems satisfied that it's true nine months after it was printed. I also seems consistent with his actions whether he actually said it or not. I'd say there is a very good chance he did utter those words.
Of course the main stream media would never repeat such stories if they can possibly avoid it, as they can in this case.

Action talks and bullshitt walks, so based on the events and actions of the past 7 years I would adamantly say YES ! One needs only to observe these events then process the multitude of erosions and violations of the constitution to see that the Bush mafia has no regard for what has been and is intended to be our guiding principles and rights on which our nation was intended to operate under
edit- Kookoo, good to see you back, carry on!

I'll grant the other side the fact that this is by no means empirical or officially validated. But it's not very hard to believe he said that, is it? Either Bush does in fact think that, or he has no spine, or no brain.
Think about the Military Commissions Act, for example. He's done nothing of note to defend the Constitution.
Consider this:
If Bush had been defending the Constitution these 8 years, what would Ron Paul be running on? Paul's entire campaign is already written for him. On the Constitution. That's why it sounds so good to so many people.

Yes, actually, that is precisely what bush thinks. The Constitution has been extraordinarily inconvenient for him during his regime, and he got quite annoyed at being reminded daily that his edicts were in direct conflict with the Constitution.

This is Bush Jr. we're talking about. Of course he could care less about the Constitution. I'm sure he's never read it and if he did, he doesn't understand it. This man is a traitor to the US, the people, and its laws. Not only did he break international law to invade Iraq, but he has also broken national laws (spy, no warrant). Hopefully he will eventually pay for his crimes using the same document that he's insisted on violating.

Well, he has used signing statements to gain more power, railroaded truth in deceiving the american people on the justifications for entering Iraq, and, most importantly, his mistakes have outcast the neocons from government.

It has been, was, and is an inconvenient pain in his azz (and probably well beyond his reading comprehension abilities).

This is a rumor that has been out there for a while now. I saw a serious article somewhere looking for the source of this rumor, and they couldn't really find a valid source. It is probably a rumor started by some liberal, who knows how much conservatives value the Constitution.
The internet is great for promoting conspiracies and rumors.
