I've heard these are extremely easy to propagate, so I wonder where I'm going wrong. These cuttings are in a vase of water with the leaf node submersed. I even made sure to place it cut side in. Its plain water, and they were fresh cuttings. Its been weeks, and nothing. What's going on?

It is best to take cuttings in spring and summer because this is the only time that they will root. Leave them in indirect light and cut the stem vertically so that it can root after put it in a glass of luck warm water and change the water every 3 days, you will have roots forming within 2 weeks. They love soil that is high in nutrients and make sure to water it when the soil is dry to the touch and add little rocks at the bottom for drainage and fetilize in spring and summer. The reason they are not rooting is because it is not the right time of the year so take new cuttings in spring and summer.

It takes time. I have a few vases in my bathrooms and its been at least 6 months and they have just a small amount of roots and growth. Be patient , they will grow. Are you looking to make new plants(in dirt) or just for water usage? I have 1 big Pothos in dirt and I just took the long clippings and place them in the water for the bathroom. I will have to pay attention to how much it grows and how fast. Wandering Jew is another plant that does well in cuttings in water They are green and burgundy and look nice trailing in a vase of water. Good Luck and be patient.

they are very easy and that's exactly how you start them. I don't remember how long it takes, but it can take a while. I have some in my window at this very moment and it has also been weeks for me. Just be patient and wait a while longer and soon you will Begin to see the roots show up and once they do they grow very quickly. Just make sure your vase is clear and it gets indirect light.
Good Luck

I have found that the white , Marble Queen is very slow to root. Sometimes it takes a while for the yellow as well. Just be patient, make sure its warm enough and it will root.
