My friend had a baby hummingbird stuck in a spider web; then she saved it. But we were wondering if the spider would eat the baby hummingbird if it had the chance?

I would expect so; most spiders will eat most things they can subdue safely. Big, dangerous predators like wasps, and perhaps some beetles, would be relatively safe in a spider web - either cut out by the spider or left alone until they got out by themselves - but any web strong enough to hold a small bird is likely to host a spider big and strong enough to subdue one. I'm curious, though - how did you know it was a baby hummingbird?

I've seen a spider with a mouse in it's web, so I don't think spiders would think twice about a baby hummingbird. I'm so glad she saved it! I bet it so cute and tiny!

Spiders never eat: they suck the bodily fluids out of their prey. In the tropics, there are spiders which include birds as their prey.

I don't see why not. They just need to blood from the creature.
