Okay, in order to make something (5y) cross out, multiply the top by -1.

We get:

-3x+5y=-5
Now keep
2x-5y=5

And combine these to get

-1x=0
x=0

Now plug 0 into either equation to get y.

3(0)-5y=5
-5y=5
y=-1

So the answer is:

a. (0,-1)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3x - 5y = 5
multiply 2ND eq by -1>>>- 2x + 5y = - 5 now add 2 eq.
x= 0>>>> substitute it in any of the 2 original eq
y= -1
Answer then is a
