Sounds as if helping the poor is anti American .

He has not built palaces for him and his family .

He has built schools and hospitals for the people .

Why is it that people say he is a leftist , when clearly he is a humanitarian who is helping the poorest people in his country and helping our poor people also .

Helping the poor can get you in trouble it seems .. Unless you do it to get oil leases or mineral rights or something of value like a military base .

I wonder why people attack Chavez who seems only to have the needs of the poorest people in mind .

We unlike the Libs read history and learn. That whole Trojan horse thing. It is still a very common practice you might be aware of as you probably have protection against them on your computer. We feel we should also have that protection in our lives!!

Just reading over the responses on here...it is really just so sad that there appears to be a small section of Americans who are unable to take in any information which does not coincide with what they have been programmed to believe.

Oh, and my FAVORITE response from "Wendy Wow" where she said,

"This is a country where anyone who dares to think and speak differently from the government,” said Machado, “is seen as an enemy."

Uh.....does anybody ELSE see the amazing irony of HER posting THAT?? Isn't that hilarious???

I'd also like to point out that Chavez is willing to accept the will of the people And I quote, "This shows that our democracy is maturing."

Whereas the guy the Rightwingnuts are SUPPORTING, Musharref, has tabled the Constitution and been operating under Marshall Law.

But...he's "OK" because bush SAYS he's "OK."

Duh.

They(those accusing Chavez of being anti-American) are the true anti-Americans. They would prefer to see the poor die an agonizing death than to part with a dollar so that they could get something to eat.

So the answer to your question is hatred. They hate it when non-Americans show more humanitarian kindness than themselves, so they resort to name calling to make themselves feel better.

Quoting blueridge: "Whereas the guy the Rightwingnuts are SUPPORTING, Musharref, has tabled the Constitution and been operating under Marshall Law. But...he's "OK" because bush SAYS he's "OK."" ----Sadly, the people of this country have a terrible history of exhibiting this sort of behavior. What a shame that so few people question our leaders.

ANYONE helping poor Americans is considered anti-American by this administration.

Let them lazy, Welfare sucking poor Americans freeze to death this winter, Bush needs all that money to give to the people who actually elected him, the Iraqi people, oh and big Oil.

Shutting down media outlets is anti-American.

Taking private property without compensation is anti-American.

Giving away oil is a publicity stunt designed to obtain the support of "useful idiots" who don't think crtitically and who want their own disdain for all things American validated.

When one is in prison, one does not evaluate one's situation based on the quality of the food.

FREEDOM is what's important.

Chavez does not respect it.

Chavez is a meat head.... not necessarily anti-American, but he uses the unpopularity of US policies to further his own political career. He is power hungry and dishonest at the very least.

His work to improve the lives of the poorest people of the world is admirable, but his methods are despicable.

Yeah, and Moussolini made the trains run on time so I guess we have to admire him too. You need to understand that Chavez is doing everything he can to undermine this Country. Dividing poor from rich is just another tactic, and what makes you think that there's no programs of our own out there to help the disadvantaged?

He does help our poor with heating. Bush doesn't like him because he says what he thinks about HIM.

Have you lost your mind . . . he is actively trying to devalue the U.S. dollar . . . Just because you help the poor, doesn't make you Pro-American.
