Mizzou - Finished #6 in the final BCS rankings with only a regular season loss to Oklahoma (losing the Big 12 title game came at a bad time) - beat both Illinois (who beat OSU) and Kansas. Yet Illinois gets the Rose Bowl and KU gets the Orange Bowl, leaving Missouri to play against 8-4 Arkansas in the meaningless Cotton Bowl.

Just how many more year-after-year examples are needed to prove to everyone in this country that the BCS is the worst abject failure in the history of NCAA collegiate sports?

I guess you can say they got shafted. They were a 2 loss team and Illinois lost 3.
The big problem with the BCS system is the Rose Bowl.
They want a traditional game vs big 10/pac 10 opponents. Thus those 2 conferences get an advantage when it comes to getting 2 teams into bowl games. Not to mention that they don't have a conference championship game which would give one of their top 2 teams an additional loss.
KU deserves to be in the BCS.. they came to play every week.

There can only be two teams from any conference in the BCS Bowl games. Since OU won the Big 12 and KU had only one loss, it makes sense that those are the two teams. I know you're gonna say that MU beat KU, but MU had a chance to redeem themselves against OU, but instead got taken behind the woodshed worse than the first time. I will agree with you that the BCS needs to be changed or even gotten rid of, but MU deserves what they got. The Cotton Bowl takes the first Big 12 team that does not get into the BCS, and that is MU. And the Cotton Bowl is not meaningless, along with the Holiday Bowl, it is probably the most prestigious non BCS Bowl Game. And if MU isn't ready, Arkansas will take them behind the shed, just like they did to LSU.

Yes, I agree. They should be in a BCS bowl over Kansas and Illinois. I don't think the BCS guys paid much attention to the fact the Missouri beat these two teams. They were only focused on how to get LSU to the championship over Virginia Tech from a week 2 result.

Nope, they get wiener of the year award. I mean look at Georgia, last week they were ranked 4, putting them next in the BCS Championship line. This week they're still ranked 4th and are only going to the Sugar Bowl. Message for the Tigers I know who it feels to have thing all wrapped up then have it all gone. Kentucky had the SEC East wrapped up then we decided it would be fun to lose to Mississippi State on our home field. Now we're looking at another Music City Bowl. Also if you feel you got shafted then go out and prove it against the highly explosive offense of Arkansas.

totally agree . yes they lost to the same team twice, but they was not voted #1 twice and lost both times. now they get a 3rd chance to be # 1. keep giving them chances and maybe some day they will be # 1, but not this year . i am not a ohio st fan , ( BUT GO BUCKEYES ) truely this year will go down as a flop. COME ON ( BULL CONFERENCE SH?? ) BCS. get out of town and have a playoff also missouri lost 2 x to the #4 bcs team lsu has 2 loses to unranked bcs team go figure. they really suck, ita a highway robbery

Mizzou would not ought to cry too complicated, they only have been given their clocks wiped sparkling, meaning they weren't as stable as human beings concept and in the event that they do no longer play greater helpful interior the "meaningless, pennyless" Cotton Bowl, they gets their clocks wiped sparkling lower back. merely ask LSU. yet Hawaii, is attending to play a BCS bowl and that's approximately as much as they could have was hoping for. Their time table wasn't the toughest around, and that they slightly gained in a number of their video games, so as that they did no longer dominate they way they mandatory to be waiting to play in a greater helpful bowl. So basic, no screws to those 2 communities.

Yes. I completely agree with you. I also think that Georgia is a close second. They were ranked #4 before this week and had two people in front of them lose, and they dropped to #5. It makes no sense at all. No where in the rules does it say that you must win your conference to play in the championship game.

If you're not in the championship game, all the bowl games played are meaningless.

Like anyone remembers who played in what bowl game a year or two down the road.
