Definitely do not talk to your friend about it. I know that sounds harsh and cynical, but it's the truth. People are competitive by nature and even the smallest of interest can be sparked when you mention that you're interested in the guy too. It's part of the reason why 'we always like the ones who are taken.' You should talk to the guy, though.. flirt a little, even. If he likes you, then you both should try and be happy together, and if she's a true friend, she'll stay a friend. (Note: This only applies if you don't know that she likes him. If you know for a fact that she does, and she mentioned it first, then you should back off until you're sure of his feelings toward you both, and then talk to your friend if he happens to like you more). Good luck!

nothing..... let Clarence decide and be honest about it with your best friend.

example: If Clarence likes you, but you are pulling back because of your best friend. It can create a weird situation a couple of months later, whereby you really could hurt your best friend.

I think you should talk to your friend about it and see how she feels. She might be okay with you going out with him. If not, you need to decide which you value more: this guy, or your friend. If it's the guy you value more and he asks you out, then I would say yes. But if it’s your friend that you value more, then don’t go out with the guy unless your friend doesn’t care. I would also keep in mind that a relationship with a boyfriend in high school (which is where you are, I’m assuming) is very unstable, while your friends might always be there for you. If you will lose your friend by going out with this guy, I wouldn’t go out with him, because she will most likely be gone forever once you break up with the guy. Good luck.

This is a had situation. The question is which of these relationships is most likely to be more lasting, yourr friendship, or a relationship with this guy. You should really talk to your friend about this i think. If i was in a situation like yours and a friend of mine liked the same girl id have to choose my friendship over a relationship. Friendships last a lifetime, boyfriends and girlfriends come and go.

You should let the guy decides who he likes and just deal with it. The same thing happened with me and a girlfriend of mine; I had a crush on a guy and didn't even know she was interested in him too until he asked about her and when I told her about him asking, she got all excited. I cared more about my friend and her happiness to try to stand in the way of them getting together. I mean it hurt at first, but he liked her and why shouldn't he? she's a great girl. They didn't last, but our friendship did.

I think you should have someone ask him if he likes one of you back. So if he likes You, then wait until your friend gets over him, and vise versa. I f he doesn't like either, hey, there are plenty fish in the sea!
