Sorry to you from the U.S. 'Getting on' means to us brits, to be able to talk etc with no bad feelings.

Yes we do most of the time, we have to because we have a son. My ex usually spends christmas day with us. He's still a good dad and we're quite relaxed about access.

Kind of, she gave me all the 'I still wanna be friends' crap when she told me she was leaving and that was over a year ago, but then she emailed me last week to say she had accidentally had a sly dig at me to a friend of mine-it's nice that she told me what she said but I'll bet all the money in the world she only told me cos she was worried that I might find out what she said.

She can say what she wants about me, I don't really care seeing as she is not part of my life anymore. We still talk, but we don't 'chat', in a sense I don't think she quite understands that now I am in a new relationship being is not really a good idea-I guess she doesn't see things from my girlfriend's perspective.

But even if i was single I don't think we would be friends, too much has happened and we have too little in common. But I am glad to be able to look back fondly at the good times we had in the nine years we shared, whilst not forgetting that there were too any bad times.
