The dead are beyond harm. They have paid the ultimate price for their service to our nation, and that is as newsworthy as one can possibly be.

Strangely, similar photographs from prior wars harmed no one.

When I went to the Vietnam Memorial Wall, it was overwhelming: The sheer enormity of the human cost of that war, written on black stone.

Maybe if we saw the enormity of this war's human cost, it might motivate those in power to end it.

It's just part of the media war on the US side. Maybe Bush could take it further and just not let anyone know that any Americans have died over there - a media blackout.

It's a bit of hypocrisy. When the war is on they don't want us to talk about the dead, but when its over they parade the memories of the dead through the streets to remind us of those who died.

The truth is the dead mean nothing. If they cared about those soldiers they would be writing bigger checks for them and giving a million to their fakmilies on their deaths. They are just poor people and poor people are used by the rich.

Where is the love of country coming from the business people who stand to gain the most from this war. Why are they charging the US government so much to do anything war related.

The only American heros are the poor who fight for nothing and in the end die for us all. The 'haves' are the swine of America.

I don't see how anyone's rights are violated by prohibiting them from taking pictures of other peoples' caskets.

trying to make the war a little more 'touchy-feely'..

if you don't see the caskets, did the soldiers and marines die for no purpose ?
