medical breakthrouhgs (cure for cancer, heart attacks), save endangered species, nature is already cloning organisms so why can't we, can create hope for infertile couples, enable people to raise an identical child after unfortunate death= these can all be solved by cloning :)

Well...cloning doesn't always refer to organisms like humans and animals...there's also such thing as cloning healthy cells to help correct diseases and other genetic disorders. Gene Therapy, in fact, may also be considered a form of cloning~and its success rate has already made headlines in some countries. So even though there may be some ethical issues against cloning human beings, there are still some benefits to cloning in general. In fact, some scientists have prophesied being able to correct genetic disorders (trisomy, monosomy &c) through this kind of research

how silly,who wants to live as each other,we all need individuality.having said that i suppose we all may need blood at some stage to keep us alive and that comes from a different human being.well at the end of the day i suppose clonings ok,we can share our bits and bobs and grow ourselves anew etc. i dont suppose this will help a lot,but its a point.

It would be possible to breed perfect individuals without inherited diseases and brain handicaps...but one should ask this: would it end human suffering ?!
