their findings are inconclusive, what excuse do they have for their accusations against the McCanns of murdering their Madeleine?

What were their allegations of murder based on?
If it wasn't on conclusive evidence, could it have been..... on hearsay?????

With modern technology if they were going to find something they would have found it. Everyone is blaming the Portuguese police for their investigation, but Portugal is a very young democracy compared to the rest of Europe. They are about the same now the UK police were 20 years ago. Having said that, the police today in the UK can´t solve every crime or disappearance. In all cases such as this one the parents are normally official suspects, but that doesn´t mean they are guilty, it just gives the police more powers to investigate and ask pertinant questions. Personally, Ive thought for quite some time this case will just disappear from the news and peoples thoughts until there is a breakthrough. It may never be solved. We all want closure but I´m not sure if you will get that.

Xenophobia. Plus to be reasonable we do moan an terrible lot approximately our possess police as good. Menezes used to be no longer a moment elegance citizen in any respect, he used to be a person who happend to seem like a desired terrorist at a time while emotions had been prime. He used to be within the improper situation on the improper time. I do not have desired to have made the choice to allow him get at the educate if I idea he used to be the man they'd improper him for. It used to be tragic, however that does not imply he used to be a moment elegance citizen. You have got to blame the terrorists no longer the police. There are humans who blame the McCanns and no longer the PJ. The Daily Mail does no longer constitute the perspectives of such a lot correct pondering humans in Britain. **Tunnocks - You say you're presuming the poster is Portugeuse after which critising the ordinary of his English. Are you equipped to publish in Portuguese? This does look a vaguely petty remark to make.

Hi Faith
I am always interested in missing children cases which is what drew me to Maddy's case. Being a US citizen I have to say that I am amazed and disappointed in the education I am getting on British policies. Not only their police but their media.

As you know, I am also watching the Peterson case.

In comparing the media actions in both cases, I have to give US media a pat on the back, they stick to the facts. They have reporters out there chasing leads and report rumors and speculation but they tell us the who, what, when, where and why about it.

Someone posted out last night that when the word "detective" is used by the British media, it doesn't necessarily mean a Police detective, it could mean a hired detective. Well of course I put more stock in a police detective than a hired one.

The more the media talks, the more I feel so sorry for the McCanns.

I'll never go to Portugal, it's like a bad Hitchcock movie.

No way!!
A police force wouldn't base such allegations on hearsay surely?

That's how it seems though. If you ask me, I think they tried to cover their own backsides because they know they messed up and the amount of media pressure got to them.
The McCanns should have been suspects in the start, then once cleared the police could have got on to real culprit instead of wasting time.
What a hard lesson to learn eh? They have given Madeleine's abductor a hell of a lot of leeway now.
Will the police apologise though?....I doubt it.
