You'd be surprised how much dirt, not to mention insect parts and other unmentionables, we eat on a daily basis. So a little extra dirt on your broccoli won't be a problem and this is especially so if it's been boiled.

Yes, but you can scrape the broccoli off and it should be okay :)

i think it is..unless you boil it 100 degree centigrade for 5 minutes which kills some vegitative stage of bacteria and parasites.
