I can definitly relate, the doctors these days are very unhelpful! I miscarried about four weeks ago at 5wks 5days. so here is what I found out.......
Chill out on the couch if you can so that you can relax and give your bub the best chance possible, I spotted and progressiveley got heavier and then small clots for three and a half days before I miscarried and then a further two and a half weeks from there and even now I still spot occasionally four weeks later (mostly after sex). But bak to your current situation... I was told that if you soak a pad in one hour you need to be worried but anything other than that your bub might still be ok. So chill out with a mag and play the waiting game, which is horrible I know :)
BTW I had no cramping through out the whole thing and the doctors didnt think my situation was 'bad' enough because of this, so if this is your case too, demand more action!!!! No cramping doesnt mean everything is ok! They can stitch your cervix closed! :)

first of all I am so sorry you are going through this. I had a miscarriage May 06. I lost the baby naturally meaning that my stomach started to contract and I bled heavily for 5 days and then it eased off. I lost a lot of blood when I miscarried it was like having a very heavy period. One thing that you can try if you like is to take a home pregnancy test. It's not guaranteed of course but when you miscarry the pregnancy hormone drops and eventually goes back down to 0 if you weren't too far along in your pregnancy your hormone may have dropped low enough to show as a negative on a test, of course if it comes up positive it may get your hopes up and you would have to be prepared on wednesday incase you have sadly lost your baby. It's up to you, but I hope you have your family and friends close during this time, I know its difficult x

Oh you poor thing. How disappointing for you. Usually if they say they can't see a baby or heartbeat it means it has passed on already and the reason why you have to wait a week for another scan is to check for any changes that might occur in that time.
In a week, if the baby is still there they will be able to see a difference in growth etc...or they will wait that week to be doubly sure that the baby has passed so they can perferm a D&C correctly and not inadvertantly take a live fetus.
Its an agonising wait and so heartbreaking but it is best for you to wait until next week as you will have your definate answer then.
Best of luck and God bless

you can bleed alot....if you misscarried you will have some cramping and you will experince something like a contraption but not as major as giving birth....you could try taking a home pregnancy test but the problem with that is if you did miscarry you might still have some of the pregnancy hormone and home tests are very sesitive and will pick up on just a little bit....im suprised your doctor didnt give you a pregnancy test, which is less sensitive.

I'm sorry to hear you're in this situation. I had an early miscarriage, and it was comparable to a period in terms of flow and duration. The biggest difference was the cramping in my lower back.
An ultrasound on the day I started bleeding showed conclusively that I had lost the pregnancy, so I didn't go through the uncertainty you're experiencing. But occasionally people do experience bleeding during pregnancy - even heavy bleeding - and go on to have a healthy baby. Since the doctors didn't tell you anything for certain, try not to despair or to get your hopes up. (Easier said than done.)
A friend of mine had the same experience you did - bleeding during pregnancy with an ultrasound the doctors couldn't interpret - and went on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. It turned out that she was originally carrying twins, and lost one of them early on. Perhaps this is what's happening to you.
Again, I am so sorry you're experiencing this and hope you have a definitive answert soon.

You poor thing! Thats awful that they can't give you a definite answer. I would call the ultra sound place and get them to move your appointment forward. just keep calling. thats torture to wait that long. It's not unheard of for some people to keep having regular periods while they are pregnant. So you may be one of these people. I'd just try to stay positive. I know its hard. Just try and get back to get another scan asap to put your mind at rest either way. good luck! i hope everything goes well.

if it was positive from a scan that you are pregnant and now the scan says there's no more baby or a heart beat, then go for D&C ASAP. dont wait, you might suffer life-threathening complications.
should you need someone to talk to, we can chat at sunkissed0506@yahoo.com
