the shape of the universe is unknown.........

therefore we don't really know where we are.

we can only see about 42.5 billion light years in each direction,(the observable universe) beyond that we don't know whats around because its just too far.

we do know the milky way (our galaxy) is a part of the local group..... which is 10 million light years across.

we also know the sun sits in the orion arm of our milky way. and the earth is the third planet in our solar system

this is a cool site showing the relation of our sun to many observable galaxy clusters, starting with the nearest stars.
Very cool.

remember though. Ultimately,

we can't see further than 42 billion light years.

we don't know the shape of the universe

Earth is too small to be compared to the universe. Earth is just one of the small inner planets in the Solar System which is a small system in the edge of the Milky Way galaxy. Milky way is a small sized spiral galaxy in the Local Group. Even the Local Group is too small to be compared to the infinite (my opinion) and vast universe.

Earth is part of the universe.

If you mean in relation to the milky way then it is located in one of the spiral arms. I don't think it is possible to answer where it is in relation to the universe because the universe is infinite so there is no way to judge where in the universe we are

In all directions we can see other galaxies and galaxy clusters to about the same distance from us (Hubble Space Telescope confirmed this). So it would be common sense to say that we are in the middle of the universe. But most "scientists" hate to think that way.
It can not be what is forbidden to be - according pre-conceived cosmological beliefs.
It's up to you to believe this or that - science has no valid answer for you.

In the middle of a galaxy known as THE MILKY WAY. Where we are located within the entire universe is anybody's guess as the universe is expanding all the time and as such our relative location is always changing (unless we are at the exact centre which is extremely remote).

Right in the middle of our universe

... seeing as no one can say just how big the universe is, and whether it has finite boundaries, i don't see how this question can be correctly answered...
