I want to create my own website. I'm worried that the traffic to my website could exceed the my allowed bandwidth and I could be stuck with a huge bill from the web host provider. Could this happen or is this something I shouldn't worry about? Thank you.

There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. Those who claim like that are usually liars.

There are many good webhosting sites.

Visit
http://www.nicewebhosts.com

there you will find best web hosting providers compared with their webspace and bandwidth as well as their prices.

Hope you find the right one.

Be careful, there are alot of websites that do have extras in their terms and conditions like this. But to be honest i cant see you reaching some of the bandwidth limits around now.

I use http://www.keyspacehosting.com
they are at the moment providing me with 500gb bandwidth limit. They have an option to add more its very cheap to get an increase, it has a bandwidth monitor to show you how much you have used, also it will not go over the limit and will warn you if you have nearly reached the limit.

Don't worry about it!
if you have a limit like mine everything is fine!
check out the site though the support is really good, includes everything and a big bandwidth limit! good luck!

There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth in a technical sense. I'd recommend that if you are in the need of a hosting plan that requires a lot of monthly bandwidth you should look beyond a shared hosting plan and instead at a dedicated server. But unless your planning on having large files (video/audio) with 100,000's of monthly visitors you really don't have anything to worry about with exceeding bandwidth in which case a shared hosting plan would be the appropriate option for you. I don't like the term "unlimited bandwidth". Everything has a limit. Bluehost, Startlogic, etc give a massive amount of bandwidth. My sites have never used more than 20% of the bandwidth offered by my Bluehost package.

Take a business package. They give you so much
