Vocabulary is more than just words. It reflects your personality, and often your upbringing. If you have a problem with profanity, which is simply used because of a lack of a better word inside their heads, than a change in language might help you feel more confident in the adult/teacher world. Adults are more likely to listen to and converse with a student/ fellow adult if that person speaks intelligently. On the other hand, profanity and slang may feel okay with your peers. You may feel accepted and confident then, but you may feel uncomfortable, defiant, and defensive in the adult world.

Your vocabulary will attract one type of people over another. If you swear a lot, some people will be offended and not want to be around you. You start to act like the group you are around.

If somebody suddenly swears at me for no reason, particularly when they haven't done that before, it will influence me to get out of there fast.

If you don't p*ss others off, maybe they won't try to p*ss you off and then no one will be as angry.

Laying off the d*mn cursing would probably help. I like conflict, so I'll keep the d*mn cursing, thank you.
