The Bible doesn't mention what fruit it was, so no one will ever know. Most likely it was NOT an apple, because they do not grow in the area where the Bible states that the Garden of Eden was located - between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, where Iraq is today. It could have been a fig, since the Bible states that Adam and Eve used fig leaves to cover themselves.

The Bible doesn't specify, but many people in modern day have considered it to have been an apple. That's why we call the bump in a guy's neck the "Adam's apple." Still, in my years in Catholic school, teachers always emphasized that the forbidden fruit probably was NOT an apple.

No, it says "forbidden fruit". As far as we know it could be anything from an apple to a watermelon.
