Yes, about 15 years ago, while I was away visiting family at Christmas, a druggie/arsonist broke into my apartment, took the (cheap) TV, the (cheap) stereo, and the cable box, and then torched the place. I lost everything I owned except some dishes and a box full of photo albums and diaries that were soaked and sooty. My flat was the bottom half of a beautiful Victorian home with a large beautiful secluded garden and french doors in my bedroom that led out to the patio/garden (which is how he got in...ironic, as those were the features that sold me on the rental!!). Fortunately, I had (still have) a very supportive family and friends, and the people at work were incredible--donating clothes, money, books (I was working on my MA in literature at the time), and furniture...even people in other offices across the country with whom I had worked. I don't know HOW many times I cried at the kind outpouring from everyone! I was a bit nervous after that, looked a lot at security factors when choosing where to live, had some strange dreams for a while, but all in all, it could have been much worse--after all, it was only "stuff" :)

Yes. I was assaulted and injured while at work. A meth head hit me in the head with a piece of rebar causing a closed head injury, and then hit me in the side, breaking 2 ribs.
Oh yeah, I'm a cop. I was a solo patrol unit on a traffic stop on a busy street and this guy came at me from behind. He started working me over with the rebar, and no one raised a finger to help me, until a guy on a sanitation truck a block away ran over to get the guy off of me. Thank God for the trash man, versus the trash that stood there and watched the guy try to beat me to death. The comm center didn't even receive a 911 call on it. I had to call in an officer down on the radio.

Someone reached right into my car and swiped my faceplate and some change once.
It was an enraging feeling and I'm just very glad that I didn't catch him in the act because I don't know how much freedom I would have right now...

One day I lost my house key so I climbed in my bedroom window, as I was climbing in I heard somebody trying to climb in to my living room window. I think they heard me because it sounded like someone jumped out the window right away. I grabbed my baseball bat and ran out there, the window was broken. It was pretty scary.

My car was stolen. It sucked a lot. They found it...eventually. It was full of fast food receipts, and they left me a basketball for my troubles. But they stole my cd player.
It was a white honda accord.....if the person who stole it is reading this...I hate you.
