I hear you, sister. I just started High School as well, and it can be overwhelming. I think that you could try setting up a schedule. I'm doing the IB program at my school so in 2 years, I'm going to be in over my head. When you get home, do you have some homework for the next day, and other homework for the day after that? Do the homework for the next day for 1 hour, then take a hour long break. Get a snack, watch TV, read a book, go on the computer, just get yourself calm. Then, go ahead and do as much as you can for 2 hours. By that time it is...6:30. Stop yourself there, and get dinner, then go to bed!!! Not sleeping can hurt you, not help you, in school. And don't bash the teachers. They grade your tests, you know.

If you really take all the time that you say you are doing something wrong. You may have a problem with reading or you do not know how to properly study. Perhaps you do not know how to organize your time.
Read the information below.
Here are the suggestions.
1. Have all of your materials ready and in the place that you are going to study.
3. Study when its quiet. No music, no TV, No headphones, no nothing.
4. Do your most difficult subject fist or else you may never get to it.
5. Keep a calendar so that you know when a project is due or a test is going to be given.
6. Vocabulary is very important. Words have different meanings. You need to know the meaning for the subject that you are taking.
7. Study the relationship of things. How is the topic that you studied related to the unit that you are studying?
8. Your textbook has hints for you. Many books have important words or phrases in darkened or colored type, make sure that you know them thoroughly.
The sites below are excellent and will give you many other ideas about studying.

yes, you will wish you were back at school. Trust me I wish I was there now, But I think I could deal with it better now than I used to.
Big mistake to stay up so late finishing homework. If you feel you have too much or can't keep up talk to your teachers they may have an afterschool program to help you with that.
* when I was in highschool students would play off as not understanding and the teacher would put them in learning assistance where the teachers would give you one on one help - so see what you can get.

School sucks because it is a terribly flawed system. The "leadership" says we need to take a bunch of stupid waste of time classes that don't actually pertain to our futures. For example, I am a biology major, but I have to take calculus and advanced chemistry. I will likely never use either of these things in the career I wish to have. Because of these waste of time classes, the system is set up to not produce the best results for the fields we are interested in because we stress and lose sleep studying for things that don't matter rather than what we plan to get jobs in.

I don't know if you are talking about high school or college here, but I know college is not nearly that bad....well the late hours are that bad but the professors are always up late too. My professor lives across the street and we both have instant messager and I usually see him online at like 4am and hes grading papers or preparing for class. If its high school...well college is better so don't get so down about school...and there is not way you are putting that much effort into high school unless your not managing time well.

School sucks because of my Science and ENGLISH teacher. My English teacher actually told me to go to the guidance department because I insisted that handwritings do not matter whether they look good or not! My Science teacher sucks because she keeps picking on me. Yeah, yeah, so what if I always get the highest score in our Science exams! They also load me with tons of assignments! The Science teacher assigned me to present about Titanium and she only asked me!!! Why me?! Why can't they be like my math or computer teacher? They rock!!! Why can't I just go to college and study geology?!

Yes school is the worst part of being young. Sorry, but you'll just have to suffer through. But get an education, you'll regret it later if you don't. And I'm just talking High school. I hated school too. In fact, I even HATED college. But don't worry, life WILL get better.

I understand how you feel... maybe you need to work on your time-management skills, that doesn't sound like any kind of school I know. Is this high school or university? Can you cut down on your work load? Talk to your teachers about how much time you are spending doing homework, perhaps they don't realize how much they give you.
