Your prized possession cannot be replaced, why is everyone assuming that this prized possession is a Take That CD that can be bought in any shop? It's not. This possession may have a deep emotional attachment, something passed down through your family for generations or something given to you by a dying relative. Assuming this item can be recovered then it is little more than petty theft, but if it cannot then in that sense you are right that it is similar to rape, in that something extremely important is forcefully taken from you against your will, with no chance of the crime being undone.

I wrote a book about safety and precautions for new kittens in your home, using practical experiences that I have gained over the years of raising animals and recently I found out that that the chapters to this book (had composed it on Yahoo and had it in my email account) had been compromised, but we do have a copyright on the transcript, so it is protected by law. Now, we are waiting for that individual to try to publish it and then we will go after them legally and sue. I dislike thieves and especially hackers.

My maternal grandmother's amethyst ring. It was only costume jewelry, but it meant the world to me because my grandmother died before I was born. I always wished I knew her because everyone talked about what a wonderful woman she was. My mother had the ring for about 35 years before she gave it to me. The setting was loose and before I could repair it I lost it. Never found it.
