Yes I agree we are pretty vain, and Ill be the first to admit I'm very vain I just cant help it. I want to look as good as possible I guess that's what you get when you grow up looking at all the beautiful people and noone ever tells you that's not how they really look!

The KJV has a lot to answer for.
English has moved on and the "vanity" at the opening of Ecclesiastes is not referring to your sort of "vanity" at all.

Though I fully agree that the cults of both celebrity and appearance are bordering on the obscene and the absurd.

"Meaningless! Meaningless!" says The Teacher.
"Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless!"
Ecc 1:2, NIV.

The older sense of vanity is futility: "He struggled in vain".
Very distinct from its more modern senses of misplaced pride or worship of appearance.

Yep but this has been going on for a very very long time, It is all about EGO! If people could look past the EGO and realize we are only here to love and to learn then all would be in sinc.
We need to look at people with love. Where's the love? lol
