I'm an Ohio State fan and I would love to see Ohio State vs. Illinois for the title.
Illinois is awesome and congratulations on them having a great season. Ron Zook is from a town about 15 minutes from me so I've been rooting his career on + my dad lives in Illinois and I have some sweet Fighting Illini hoodies.

Illinois is the next best thing in the Big 10 after Ohio State. They wouldn't be going if Ohio State had been bumped down on the BCS selections. The Rose Bowl ALWAYS takes the Big 10 champ (which Illinois is NOT) unless that team is in contention for the BCS National title. Thats the only reason Illinois deserves to play in the Rose Bowl which by the way is NOT the BCS title game, it's just ONE of the BCS games.

Illinois had a fine team this year and knocked off previously unbeaten Ohio State. They will probably be even better next season and contend for conference honors. But the fact is that they do have 3 losses and you are just not getting into a BCS bowl game much less a title game with 3 losses. All the best to the and remember the Chief!

First off, you mean BCS bowl game, not title game. Anyway, answering your question as I'm assuming you meant it, I'm a Michigan fan, but they absolutely do not deserve a BCS bowl. I know the Big Ten has the tie into the Rose Bowl if their team has a BCS rank of 14 or higher, but Illinois is a team in their first year of rebuilding. USC is going to slaughter them. It won't even be remotely fun to watch. I was expecting Georgia to get the at large against USC, which would've produced a MUCH more entertaining game. But in my opinion, Missouri got shafted out of a BCS Bowl, and Florida and Arizona State are teams that could've gotten BCS bids that are better than Illinois. There're also other teams lower such as Tennessee that could probably stomp Illinois. That being said, I'm impressed Illinois has managed a complete 180 turnaround this season, and finished 2nd in the Big 10. But god help them during the Rose Bowl, and hope they don't lose to them as bad as UMich has the last 2 times they've played.

For all those people saying that Florida or Mizzou should have been in the Rose Bowl, instead of Illinois. The rules prevent it. Only 2 teams from a conference can play in BCS Bowl games. Oklahoma, and Kansas eliminate Mizzou, and Georgia and LSU eliminate Florida.
Az State has the only legitimate complaint, but a Pac 10 - Pac 10 match wouldn't have worked.

Here's my argument. Illinois does not deserve to in a BCS Bowl at all. Yes they beat #1 Ohio State......SO! They lost to Mizzou who beat #2 Kansas, and who lost to only Oklahoma twice. But didn't get a BCS bid. Illinois also lost to Iowa who was 6-6 and they lost to Michigan who was the actual #2 in the Big 10. But I know no one want to see Michigan get done up again in the Rose Bowl to USC so Illinois is the subject this year. I just don't see it. If Illinois somehow win the Rose Bowl, then I'll buy a Illini jersey and post my picture on my page with it on.

The fact that Illinois is in a BCS bowl is a travesty. For one, the big 10 is not that strong. There were more deserving teams. If they were going to take a 3 loss team, how about Florida?? If they had to have a Big 10 team, how about Michigan?? Illinois is going to get crushed by USC. They aren't alone either. Kansas has no business being where they are.

well, the Rose Bowl is usually always played between the Pac-10 and Big 10. since Ohio State is in the National Championship, it has to go down to the next spot. Illinois was ranked fairly high at the end of the season. that is why Illinois made it in. tradition speaks for itself in college. you made it to the BCS, be proud. do not question why you are there, just accept the fact that you made it and you have 1 game to prove you are that darn good. i'm a WI fan, so after you punks kicked my team's butt, i had to tip my hat. you got a great team led by a great QB. represent the Big 10 with pride in your bowl game. beat USC. don't be intimidated, just do your thing. they said Illinois couldn't beat OSU at the Horseshoe, look what happened. Go Illinois, Go Wisconsin (beat Tennessee), Go Big 10!

i visit say no for many reasons. First, the SEC is sooo difficult that i'm not sure even LSU can stay away from a loss, fairly with the championship interest. Florida pushed them to the final 2d, and there are a number of different solid communities there. and whether they do flow by way of this long stretch i do no longer comprehend in the event that they might stay to tell the story yet another interest. look at OSU final 365 days how anybody needed available them the call and that they misplaced. ought to ensue lower back in the event that they get there. 2d, Ohio State can no longer e the super Ten champion, they might finally end up initiate a co-champ, yet there will be 2 or maybe 3 communities with one loss. and that they are going to be harm by using the shortcoming of a championship, the place they could make up a niche or 2 on the top (yet that's yet another subject remember). yet I nevertheless think of they might get by way of driving their D. hence, i might might desire to look at Oklahoma because of the fact they have by using a techniques the least confusing schedule left and OSU interior the nationwide call interest. With an OU win.
