You know the story of Achilles, right? When he was a baby his mother was sent to dip him in a special river that would make him super strong, but since she held him by the foot while doing this it made his heal vulnerable. Than later in life after he was a famous hero who seemed undefeatable, he got shot in the heal with an arrow and died. So an Achilles heal is just like a weakness or vulnerability.

It's Achilles Heel.

Achilles is a mythological hero of Greek History. All the parts of his body except his heel are immortal. He died of an arrow shot aimed at his heel.

From then Achilles heel means the weakness or the weakpoint of a person.

Achilles heal, weak point, Achilles was a greek hero, who's mother dipped him head first in the river stix to make him mostly invulnerible to anything but being as she held him by the heels they did not gain the waters benefit, so fast forward to the trojan wars, he get's hit in the heals and dies, his only week point and ends his streak.

Someone's "Achilles Heel" is basically their weak point, or a "fatal flaw." The Greek myth goes that, as a baby, Achilles was dipped into the river Styx by his mother Thetis. Though the rest of him was immortal and essentially indestructible, the heel by which Thetis held him when he was dipped into the river was untouched by the water. During the Trojan War, the Trojan prince Paris shot an arrow into Achilles' heel, killing him.

I can't remember the names but you can google the story. Achilles was dipped into a pool or something that made him invincible. His only weak spot or place he could be killed was the heel that his mother held him by as she dipped him. Of course, he was shot by an arrow in his heel and that was the end of the story. So an Achilles heel is a weak spot.

Achilles (a mythological Greek warrior - said to be the bravest hero in the Trojan war) was dipped in the magical river Styx as an infant by his mother, Thetis, in an attempt to make him immortal. She held him by the heel so this part of his anatomy did not receive the immortal protections conferred on the rest of his body. (Sadly she forgot to re dip the still dry heel). This left him vulnerable to injury to his "Achilles' heel". Eventually he was wounded in battle by an arrow in the heel and died soon afterwords.

Now we have a saying; we speak of a person's "Achilles' heel" as the weakest point of their personality or a product's "Achilles' heel" as vulnerability to failure because of a weak link in supporting structures.

"achilles heel" means weakness....
in greek mythology, the hero Achilles was dipped into a cauldron of potion as a baby, that would make him invincible and almost impossible to kill.......the potion covered his whole body except his heel (because he was being held over the cauldron by his heel)....this meant that his heel was his weak spot, and the only place that he could be stabbed and killed.

he was finally killed by a poisoned arrow in his heel by the Trojan hero, Paris.

oops...sorry, he was dipped into a magic river, i made a mistake
