As would Georgia and USC and maybe even Virginia Tech (though I'm not as sure of that one). They will be going down like a ten dollar crack-ho. Can't wait to see it.

I don't agree that Oklahoma would "slaughter" Ohio State, but I would say that Oklahoma LSU would be a more entertaining national championship to watch. Ohio State has had a weak schedule and play in one of the weakest bcs conferences this year, and I'm a UMichigan fan, so it hurts me to say it (about the big10 that is, not ohio state). Ohio State should do better this year than last year though, simply because there wasn't so much riding on the umich game this year, and they didn't drain themselves as much as last year, and they don't have so many distractions while they are off. I wouldn't say I would be stunned to see OSU walk away with the national championship, but it'd be a bit of a surprise, particuarly since LSU won what was by far the toughest conference in the country, and probably has 5 of the top 10 teams in the country this year, but the rankings don't show it because they all beat up on each other. Anyway, BCS bowls need to be replaced with a BCS playoff system...they don't even need to get rid of the BCS, although without it, there would probably be slightly less controversy

LSU is really the team most ready to play, having won the strongest conference in the nation. OSU's game last year with Florida gives you a good idea about how strong the SEC is (41-14). OSU is actually the most experienced team, but will lose in the BCS, if its LSU, but not by even close as much as they got beat last year to the Gators, because they'll be ready defensively for any repeat, also not having come off a tiring victory over UM as last year. I'm not so sure about OU though, although I'd say that they would seem to have the edge over OSU, given that the Big Ten just so happened this year to be the weaker conference altogether.

What does a cup cake schedule mean?
Playing teams that LSU played like these?

Non-Conference games
Middle Tennessee (5-7)
Tulane (4-8)
Louisiana Tech (5-7)

Conference Game
Mississippi (3-9)

Or These?

Ohio State played some weak teams, but not any weaker than LSU, or any other team.

Youngstown State (7-4)
Akron (4-8)
Kent State (3-9)

Conference Game
Minnesota (1-11)

8 teams in the Big Ten have winning records.
2 are at .500.
1 has a losing record.

They all play each other, just like the SEC.

8 teams in the SEC have winning records.
2 are at .500.
2 with losing records.

Pretty equal if you stop and look.

Don't even talk about Oklahoma. They have a super sweet cupcake schedule this year, and lost to one of them.

Colorado (6-6) LOST

Miami (5-7)

North Texas (2-10)

Utah State (2-10)

O.K. State (6-6)

Iowa State (3-9)

Baylor (3-9)

oh geez, give me a break... Can anyone else jump on the Ohio State Hate wagon? They're only playing in their 3rd National Championship in 6 years...... and as of right now during this time frame, they are 1-1 with the 3rd yet to be played........ Give it a rest...... If OhioState beats LSU in the title game, everyone will have excuses but if they lose to LSU, everyone will feel vindicated. Ohio State is the ONLY team in the top 10 that DEFINATELY deserves to be playing in the championship game. Win or lose, they deserve to be there.

I don't know about "slaughter" but I think they'd both beat Ohio State. I know I'm not looking forward to the Mountaineers playing Oklahoma. I'd have much rather played Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Ohio State will get shredded by LSU ad would definitely get bounced by Oklahoma. The Buckeyes are sitting around right now and doing the Troy Smith training regime...stuffing their faces with junk food and reading pressclippings from the Columbus Dispatch that says how great they are.

I wouldn't say slaughter, but LSU, Oklahoma, and probably USC too would all beat OSU right now. I believe Oklahoma is the best team in the country.

lsu could not even beat arkansas and kentucky, which by the way are not RANKED in the bcs. so how do you figure they will whip ohio st.. lsu bought there way in , they were #1 twice before. and lost. how many tries does it take to be # 1. 4 if you a lsu fan so you will have to wait till next yearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Lets just put the top 8 eight teams in a hat and draw out 2 for the national title game next time. I think thats how the bcs does it any way.

To me, this whole debate demonstrates that we need a playoff - 8 teams, the 6 BCS conference champions and two "at larges" either a mid major champion (like Hawaii) or another quality BCS conference team (like Georgia). Everybody gets their shot and it's decided on the field.
