It's not a lot of mould but its still disgusting looking
I would have to make sure its really really clean before I even think of eating off it again so how can I make it squeaky clean?

If I were REALLY desperate to save a plate in this situation, I might make a hot water and bleach solution in my sink, just enough to cover the plate plus a little more, and let it soak like that for an hour or so. Then I'd put on rubber gloves and/or use a long-handled scrubby thing and go to town on it.
If I could get the mold off, I'd then drain all the water, rinse the plate really, really, really good, then re-wash the plate with regular detergent (or put it in the dishwasher, if you have one).
If, after the bleach treatment and a little scrubbing, the mold was being stubborn, I'd concede defeat and the plate would get thrown away.

I would throw it out personally, but that is just me.
Bleach or baking soda and lemon maybe? Definitely SCORCHING hot water!
But I wouldn't even consider eating off a plate that had been moldy - I have done courses in food safety and food handling and I know that mold is very durable!

Ew, I'd throw it away. Even if it was sparkling clean...I would not eat off of it.
