Reagan and Bill Clinton was both popular, even the older Bush was better he just happen to run against Bill Clinton, and an independent Perot who took away most of his votes in 1992.

A lot depends on how many of Bush's crimes are exposed, and what is done about them. Sure, the war is a terrible thing, and the economy may never recover from the Bush/Cheney years, but the Republicans have already "rewritten history" by pawning the blame for these mistakes off on the Democrats. But the image of Bush standing before the World Court and explaining how torture is all a matter of semantics would last forever...

No, in fact Richard Milhouse Nixon was not a bad president. He was a bad crook, but a pretty good president.

It was the Nixon error that we saw the country of China open up. I almost went to china with the ping pong, table tennis group. It was an exciting time in the world. There were less wars and a lot more diplomacy during his time.

Bill Clinton on the other hand had a lot of stuff going on that should not have happened. His personal life and gains were his major concerns. His sacrifice was to lie to his public, his wife, his girlfriend, and now conducts himself as if none of this matters.

At least Nixon had the courage to quit when caught.

Our current president George W Bush is making some decisions that many would not make the same way and pushing policies that others don't like. He was elected because We the People wanted him to make decisions and he was elected because We the People considered his decision making abilities as the best that was offered. Unless We the People's vote is to be tossed out, He is duty bound to do the best he knows how until We the People elect his successor.

Don't knock our, We the People, elect unless you are not into this democracy stuff. If so, good luck with that.

nicely, i think he became right into a great president who have been given alot of undesirable press. He additionally had greater durable circumstances to handle then maximum presidents. He gave the girls of Afghanistan freedom and positioned the terrorists and terrible Taliban in verify. we could desire to provide up as a rustic blaming the President for the mishaps of the government we put in place... The action picture Fahrenheit 9-11 is an entire bashing of our united states of america and the majority seem at that as one hundred% fact. Like i've got pronounced previously, alot of people did not like Reagan notably here in Pittsburgh yet now he's appeared at as a great President. same with Clinton. i'm sorry yet i think that the international could nonetheless be in an analogous concern if somebody else have been President. We had defective intell on Iraq. And any president who became into exceeded this intell could have accomplished an analogous element. we've our government accountable for that not our President. Dont forget Clinton bombed Iraq very almost on a weekly foundation jointly as he became into in place of work...

No, And Actually Nixon was a very good President, as time is now showing. Carter was bad... Clinton good for the economy but bad for foriegn relations. No President can be all things to all people. Otherwise they would be God.
Bush will be remembered kindly. He has done a great job. Some of his problems stem from the fact that he is a delegator, and once he has given someone a job he expects it to be done.
He has stuck by what he believes is right. I am proud of him and very proud that I voted for him twice. I would again if it were possible.
He actually is a better President than his dad. His dad was a bit wishy washy on taxes.

No. Bush has done an overall great job of dealing with some very difficult internal and external circumstances.

Why are you lumping Nixon and Carter together? Nixon was a REAL president who in the end, impeached himself out of his own sense of decency and shame.

(Clinton would have a lot more of my respect if he had had just an inkling of Nixon's humility.)

Carter was a peanut farmer who happened to land in the WH when our country was vulnerable and looking for corrective change in all the wrong places.

The two do not belong in the same sentence. Nixon accomplished a lot on behalf of this country. Carter accomplished absolutely nothing.

No. Truman left office with a 21% approval rating and an unpopular war ongoing. Now he's a democratic icon. Even Reagan was buried by the liberal press before he left office. If the improvements in Iraq continue Bush will be remembered very differently 10 years from now.

I agree with the first comment entirely, but let me give evidence to support it.

Our economy is the best the world has ever seen,
-sure, the war in iraq alone has cost us hundreds of billions of dollars, and inflation has caused the dollar to be at its lowest value ever, but who's counting?

and the war on terror, the first of its kind, has been immensely successful in revealing who the terrorists are and severly limiting their ability to hurt people.
-The patriot act has found all of the "terrorists". Finding people who we don't know are terrorists completely outweighs making a mockery of the constitution and all the America stands for. Sure, we we might not have proof that all of them are terrorists, but c'mon, we just know. Are you questioning us? You're a terrorist too!
-For all our flaws, at least we caught the one person responsible for 9/11, Wait, hold on....what do you mean we didnt catch osama? Oh, #&%@

Bush will be remembered as an innovator, a great president and the right man at the right time.
-Ignore the fact that most of the world hates us, he has lost nearly all approval rating, has gotten us into a war that has cost us lives and money and that could spark a war consuming the entire middle east, that most of his own cabinet has even bailed on him, as well as everything else that has gone wrong during his administration, and yes, bush could be a visionary.
-And he was the right man at the right time. We as americans definitely needed someone to **** up this country, and could anyone else have done such a thing? No! Someone else might have actually helped this country, but no! Who would actually want a good president? I'll tell you who: sissy liberals! Always wanting to help this country! It's wrong I tell you!

No he will be remembered as the WORST two term President EVER, PERIOD.

Reagan promised the world, America would never be an agressor nation, attacking nations without being attacked by them first. Bush has done everything he can to ruin our relationships with EVERY other nation on Earth. It will be decades before we will recover both economically and diplomatically from his many pigheaded blunders.

Let me preface my remarks by saying I not a Dem or a Rep. I think both parties have produced good and poor presidents.

I would say that in many ways, this President is worse than Nixon, although it is difficult to compare the two. Certainly Nixon was a far more accomplished politician and diplomat than Bush; but he was also thoroughly dishonest. Carter was merely incompetent.

Toss up, but I think Bush is certainly the worst since Nixon. Interestingly enough, Harding, Nixon and Bush were the worst of the twentieth century (yes, I know Bush is twenty-first, but was elected in the twentieth)--all Republicans.

Cheers.

No.

Truman had the lowest approval ratings of all time, now he's regarded as one of the best Presidents ever. It's not uncommon for a President to be resented during his term, until the people step back, look past their emotions and see the godd he actually did for the country.
