I think Yahoo has some kind of advertising contract with Nintendo for the Wii. You can put Wii branded clothing on your Yahoo avatar, and there's a special Wii page if you go to Yahoo gaming.

I didn't notice that until I read this, that's a great question. Maybe it's because the Wii has saved Nintendo after being in third place since the N64. The PS2 and the Xbox did great compared to the Gamecube. That wouldn't really explain it though because people have questions about the GC, the DS, as well as older Nintendo consoles.
Maybe Nintendo and Yahoo! are working together.

Nintendo makes more systems than the others. Wii, DS, GBA, Gamecube, so it helps to identify which one you are refering to when asking or answering a question. 5 year olds are not the only ones playing with the Wii. I know Grandparents who really enjoy it.

that many 5 year olds? what ever.
But I think it's because a million questions are asked about the wii, especially the idiots who say: "when will the wii be in stores?" I mean honestly how f**king dumb can you get? and barely any one asks questions about the other systems like the gameboy or gamecube and stuff.

They called it "Nintendo Wii or "Wii" instead for shorter, because it sounds like the word "WE" which means that the Wii is for everyone like you.
Another reason is that it is easier to pronounce it and it won't be mistaken if you go to other countries and people would recognize the word Wii easier.
It can't be named Nintendo because it might be mistaken of other nintendo products like GameCube, DS and others
Hope this helped! :D

because literally every other question is someone asking where to find one, and that gets asked about 20 times a day.
