Here's how I figure it works out:

5-10% controls most of the media and/or works for one party or another and they'll do just about anything to get their team elected.

20-25% is pretty educated about politics and either thinks they have figured out the lesser of two evils or they stay independent and try to focus on who represents their personal priorities.

The rest of the voters do what they see on TV or their homepage news. Probably not conciously, but I doubt the majority of voters really considers political issues beyond a superficial level. Its really not that fun and quite a few people would rather put as little thought into it as possible.

Yes. We are the deciders. However most of us don't really get enough info to make a good decision. I mean, you saw the last two debates. Goofy questions and short answers.

I went real depth info into how a candidate has governed on real world issues, and how successful they've been. I want to know what kind of leadership they've provided during trying times. We're getting precious little of that, and thus it's getting harder and harder to make good decisions.

No, because the ruling rich elites, ie., The Rockerfellers, The Rothschilds, The Bildenbergs chose our prez. For instance Ron Paul would probably win, but he's being ignored and marginalized by the rich elite's media conglomerates and even if he wins, they'll fix it with their media so it makes it look like he didn't, and we'll say ya, he didn't win because the media ignored him.

It's obvious it didn't matter with Bush, he somehow was able to get elected twice.....under controversy for each election I might ad.
