ok...
i'm 19 years old. i've had my period since i was 15. it's really weird though, because i know girls are supposed to get it ever 28 days, but it seems that mine is always like a week or 2 weeks late. it seems like instead of getting it once a month....i get it twice every 3 months. is that bad? once i get it, everything is normal....it lasts about 4-5 days, and then that's it. but i was wondering if you guys could help me with the fact that i get it 1-2 weeks late every time. what could be a reason for that?

i'm still a virgin.
i'm not on birth control...i thought i about going on it, but my mom said it's not healthy for someone my age, especially if i'm planning to have kids in the future. which would actually be within the next like 4-5 years.

The best thing you can do is go to your OB/GYN and tell them about what you are experiencing. It doesn't sound like anything major but it's better to get checked and be safe. Also, make sure you're honest about your sexual activity. This is really important and your doctor needs to know. Good Luck! :-)

Not every woman has a 28 day cycle, some women have shorter cycles, some have longer cycles. If your period has always been a month and a half *45 days* apart then you probably just have a longer cycle than normal. If it just began or you still think there is something wrong ask your doctor *or health department* about it.
Good luck. Hope I helped.

The length of the menstrual cycle can vary. Some girls cycles are shorter than 28 days and some are longer. For example, mine is around 35 days. It's probably just that yours is longer. It's perfectly normal and isn't anything to worry about.

I think it is normal.I also get it always a little late.I have even gone 1 month without having it.Causes of this could include the level of iron in ur body, the food u r eating,or just how ur body works. In this cause how often ur body ovaluates. My best advice is if u r really think there is something really wrong with u go to the doctor and get professional help.

Every girl's menstrual cycle is different. Very rarely will you find a girl who gets her period exactly every 28 days. Also, a vast number of things can effect your cycle and make it irregular--stress, change of environment ... any sort of change to your normal, every day routine. So in answer to your question, yes you are normal.

But, if you are still concerned, you can see a doctor!

Everyone's "cycle" is different. Some every 28 days (most) but some are further apart or closer together. Don't worry about it.
Also if you play sports, sometimes that can slow down your periods- no harm here.
I think you are fine.

Ditto on the above comments. I'm 22 and my period still is pretty random. I was on birth control for awhile and that helped calm things down.

But, still talk to your doctor.

No, it's not weird. One in every 100 girls get their periods like you. That happens to my friend too, it is actually good for you.
