My grandmother has always given spoonfulls of powdered rattle snake to me since I was 5 years old. I love the taste & I do not notice any negative side effects. I can see how it is stated that it is good foe skin because my face is pretty clear, besides some blackheads. Now that I am older 22 years old, and now know that it is rattle snake it does make me hesitate a bit. I still take it & I do not have any negative side effects so far. Only thing is I would say I dont tale the powder that is in pills only staraight from the powder form. I dont trust these places that put the powder in plastic pills, plus the plastic is bad for your insides.
If it works for you why not? If it doe not then stop taking it. Point Blank!

No, most snakes do not rattle. Of course rattlesnakes rattle, but there are quite a few species of snakes that will vibrate their tails in dry leaves or other debris in order to mimic a rattler. Rat snakes, racers, whips snakes, pine snakes, are just a few that I have seen do this, but there are many more species that do this. If you hear a snake making a rattling sound, keep your distance but try to see the tail. If it's a pointed tail, then its not a rattler. These snakes generally vibrate their tails in a side to side horizontal movement, while rattlers will turn their tails up vertically or at an angle. Rattlers are New World snakes, meaning they are only indigenous to The Americas and I do believe that snakes that mimic rattlers are also New World snakes. One more intersesting fact about rattlesnakes. They do not (always) shake their tails. The two reasons for this is when a snake is sleeping and unaware of an approacher, or when it is positioning itself for striking, it will stop rattlling or not rattle at all. This is to gain leverage for an accurate strike (they can't do both at the same time). So, just because a particular snake doesn't rattle, that doesn't mean it's not a rattlesnake. (Flipside to your question).

When I arrived to live in western Texas a Mexican lady gave me a glass of water with a cloudy mix in it. She told me that it was ground rattle snake. When I was skeptical, she drank it first, then allowed me to prepare my own glass; I had to pick some scales that were not totally ground in the process. She then gave me a jar with the powder. With only one glass the altitude sickness dissapear in 24 hours. But most importantly my aerobic endurance improved during exercise, and surprisingly my red cell blood count went sky-high on my physical three months after I started having a glass 3-4 times a week. The taste was more like uncooked shrimp or seafood, so I masked it with V8 intead of water. 15 years later I cannot find any "hierberia" that carries the real deal. I belive this ancient remedy worked, if not for something specific, at least improved me greatly at the VO2 Max and cardiovascular level. This can work, problem is finding it!

Many animal products, including several snakes, are included in my Chinese materia medica's. I do not use animal products in my formulas for ethical reasons, but I remember my years in student herb clinic where we often used earthworms to move stagnant blood; it was very effective.
In Mayan medicine they have a snake remedy referred to as Cascabel. It is said to be a strong immune system enhancer which promotes rapid healing. This may be the ingredient in your Anahuac pills.
