You dont understand the nature of sexual predators. Most of them dont go out and commit these crimes because they are looking for some action on a Friday night. Prostitution...legal or otherwise...is not going to satisfy the deranged proclivities of these people. If it would, your theory and suggestion would make sense. But the fact is, sexual predators are not about sex. They are about power, submission, fantasy, tixation, revenge and a multitude of other emotions that simply are not going to fade away because they can get laid legally. And for many of the people who use prostitutes, the fact that it IS illegal is what makes them use them. They are drawn to the "taboo" encounter more than the sex itself.
This is a complicated issue and a good question. But it it were that simple, there would be a solution by now. And I'm afraid that if it actually turns out to be the solution, the morals police who are interfereing with government would never allow it.

You are missing the point of why these characters are sexual predators.
A rapist does not commit the act for sexual gratification. It is an attempt to degrade and control the woman. Paying a prostitute for this is counter productive for him.
A child predator is not having sex with a child because he can not get an adult woman. He simply wants a child. Thailand has legal prostitution and yet still is one of the largest suppliers of child sex slaves.
There are numerous programs to help sexual predators with their "urges". But for the programs to work, the predator has to want to change. Many do not want to. The failure rate for these monsters is extremely high.
Punishment does work in one way. The longer the predator is behind bars, in a cage; the less time he is on the street victimizing anyone else.

No, I dont agree. It wouldnt topic. Sexual youngster abuse and rape are unlawful as identical as prositution. Those sexual predators are doing some thing unlawful, so why might they even care if prostitution used to be authorized, it wouldnt topic to them. Then why arent they raping prositutes?? Because thats no longer what they're watching for. Obviously sexual predators have severe problems. For anybody to sexual abuse a youngster, its no longer simply considering that they're attractive or desire to get a few, there may be some thing significantly mistaken with them they usually prey on kids. No ordinary guy/girl of their proper brain might do this type of factor, if some thing, in the event that they rather desired a few they might cross to a prositute. People who sexual abuse kids or rapists, they have got severe intellectual or pyschlogical problems. That wouldnt hinder it. Like I mentioned there each unlawful, legalizing one, wouldnt make a change.

I don't think your idea would decrease the number of cases of sexual predators.
I think these (uusally) men are specifically targeting minors for reasons that have little, if anything to do with their access to other sex partners..
It's true that most people are very emotionally repulsed by these acts, and therefore, to varying extents, the perpetrators. But most reasonable people believe in prevention! However, it's always dicy to predict/identify future criminals, and this one may be VERY elusive in terms of psychological insight. They undoubtedly share a few traits and environments, but many other people overcome those same factors...it's a tough situation.

Most of the time it isn't necessarily about an attraction when girls are raped. If they are sexually repressed, it could be about controlling the sexual situation, because they rarely get to do so. Also, legalizing prostitution is not a good idea for because no matter how you put it, it can't be "clean." Legalizing it would promote the spread of STDs, and that is something our country is already dealing with in huge proportions.

I do not think legalizing prostitution will help lower the rate of child molesters/sexual predators at all. The men who have sexual relations with minors are interested in children, not grown women- they have a fetish and a severe problem. Sexual predators have that title for a reason- they prey on young children/minors.
Also, KRISTO makes a great point- legalizing prostitution will promote/increase the spread of STD's and AIDS.

While I think prostitution should be legalized, regulated, and taxed, this argument is fallacious. Rape isn't about sex; it's about control. Rapists like the control they have over their victims. Plenty of rapists could (or do) have partners or even spouses with whom they have sex. However, they enjoy having that power. Prostitution wouldn't "fix" the problem. It shifts the power totally away from the potential rapist.

Legal prostitution should make no difference here. Prostitutes don't provide what sexual predators are looking for.

i think it should be legal. there are so many women who end up in jail for a non-violent crime, which i think is kinda stupid...but i digress. maybe it would decrease the number of cases, but i would say only slightly, because there are still going to be pedophiles out there...we all have preferences of what we're attracted to, even if it may be, sadly, an attraction to children (eew...disgusting...)

Sex crimes against adult victims are rarely about sex, they are about power.
Pedophilia is a fetish, these men prefer young victims, and a prostitute will not settle these urges.
