I went to open the garage door when it was closed from the pad and the lights blinked and popped so I thought I just blew the bulbs. Well, I replaced the bulbs but nothing happens when I hit the pad to try and make the door go up. I've also hit the 'learn' button but nothing. The unit has power so I'm not sure what is wrong. I unplugged it and then used the learn button again but same result, nothing. Also when I push the light button on the pad, I hear the click for the lights but nothing happens. The same thing happens when I push the open on the pad and I hear the click sound again. This one isn't in the manual so I'm not sure what to do.

Ideas?

Looking at the manual, I don't see any breakers to reset other than the learn button.

I'll try unhooking the door and doing it manually but I doubt that will help. The fact that the lights don't come on either when I hit the light button leads me to believe the board has failed.

Does it sound like the motor is popping? only no longer turning the chain? Disconnect means. Open conceal on unit. look on the force gears. they are plastic. those would strip with age or heavy use. if so, you may order a rebuild equipment on line extremely than procuring a sparkling unit. in case you have have been given somebody reachable with a screwdriver, they might replace the gears in an hour or so....lots greater decrease priced than procuring and installation an entire new unit. I forget the place I have been given my rebuild equipment, yet curiously there are particularly purely some varieties of storage door openers and businesses only stick their labels on the exterior. only seek on google. you will come across a equipment which could have areas for almost any opener and value under 20 greenbacks. Oh, and if it is the gears, you will likely discover some plastic airborne dirt and dirt maximum appropriate away as quickly as you open the conceal. I remembered the fussiest area of swapping the gears became popping out a roll pin that held one equipment in place. a vice or diverse palms could have been sensible.

check to see if you have any obstruction at the eye beams. The lights might just be burned out. Sometimes a leaf will get caught in the cobwebs and will block the beam and it will not work.
