especially at walmart check out lanes! i was there today and this old man was ;less than two inches away from me. I was about to fart but i couldn't.

Yes!! I was fortunate enough to be able to find a solution. Everyday when I dropped my daughter off at school there was this woman who would walk right up into my face to talk. Don't people know what personal space is??? How did they not learn this?! Anyway, I said I am getting sick of this - I'm not brushing my teeth then when she comes into my face I am going to breathe out. So I did. I don't know if she knew it was coming or not (like she read my mind). She laughed. But it still did give me satisfaction. Another thing you can try is to talk with a spit problem (my next weapon of choice). So I hope the people that get into people's personal space are reading this. We are not happy and we are armed with weapons ready to use. Farts, smelly breath, and whatever unhygienic things we can think of, so back off.

You know, I hate to bring race into it, but I notice often times it is a foreigner who does it. And I think it may be because they are from countries where there are A LOT of people in small spaces, so they're used to crowding people and dont see anything wrong with it because it's what they're used to. You know?
Then, there are just some people who have no common sense :)

OH Man!!! Yes!! I had this broad behind me at the walmart self check out lane. This chick was right on my butt. I was like "back the hell up."
I also can't stand close talkers...

I hate that, too. People have no concept of the term 'personal space'. I do think you should've just farted, though. Not only would that have been funny, but it maybe would have taught that guy not to stand so close to people in the future ; )

You should have! Talk about invasion of ones personal bubble! An oldy lady with a cane did that to me the other day, and when I moved back, I bumped into her and almost tipped her over! Thats what she gets for being so close!

Maybe that's what he wanted. Instead of a smart feller, he was a fart smeller:) You should have let him have it full force!! I don't like that though. Some people just can't get close enough to you. Of course, I wouldn't mind it if it were a cute babe, you know.

I hate it when people do that!
Usually when people do that I just swing my arms (while hitting them) and keep saying, "Oh, excuse me," until I'm out of the check-out lane or until they back away.

My dog does that ALL THE TIME.
She'll walk really close to my legs and push me along with her nose, and I usually end up tripping over her.
