A couple of days. I don't know, we just didn't pay attention to the time. No jobs, no school, just had to occasionally take out the dog. We watched TV, hung out with friends and played board games. Then we suddenly realized we had not slept in over two days and tried to get some sleep. I think we also may have had a lot of caffeine. It's easier when you aren't trying. We didn't even think about it till I realized that the sun shouldn't have rose and set that many times in one day. I don't think we had a ton of caffine or anything. No drugs that week but opps. We forgot to sleep. That happened a few times till I got us a roommate who felt we should sleep. Then the insomniac time disappeared when the first guy moved out.
And that is why now I make sure I live with someone who sleeps.

I stayed up for 72 hours once. How? Lots of caffeine, keeping active, and talking. We were crashing for exams and trying to finish a project in college. That said, I honestly do not recommend it. It was one of the stupidest things I ever did, and in retrospect I wish I had simply prepared myself ahead of time. I would have done a lot better, I am sure. There is a reason I am a straight-A student now in graduate school, and I wasn't back then. Lesson learned.

I stayed up until 6 am once, then slept until 7 am, then got up and functioned the entire day until around 11 the next night.
The secret? Tons of sugar.

I stayed up for almost 3 days.
I was moving and had but a few days to do it in. I thought my room-mate had all things planned out and found out he really did not!!!
I did not do anything to keep awake. I just knew i had to keep moving to get the heck out of the house.
I did start "seeing" things "move". That is when i knew i really needed to go to sleep but i could not until i had all things packed.
so i guess you could say what motivated me to stay awake was, time, anger, and frustration.

well, Ive had success playing video games all night with friends with the help of Pepsi and caffeine pills. Not an every night solution, but doesn't hurt once in a while.

I got up one morning at 6am and stayed awake to the following day at 10:30am. How did I do it? Um.....it was back in the day when I experimented with illegal substances- to say the least.
