i configure ad hoc network between my laptop and desktop pc and properly connected but i can't ping my laptop or pc desktop.
additional details:
1.config static ip.
2.turn off windows firewall

If the connection shows connected, recheck the static IPs you are using.
One machine should be something like 192.168.1.1 and the other should be 192.168.1.2 (be sure they are different) also be sure the subnets are both 255.255.255.0.
You don't have to set a gateway at all so don't unless you are using Internet connection sharing, in which case the machine with the internet is the gateway and that machine will also be the DNS on the one not directly connected to the internet.
That should work, does for me.
