Can you give me any actual reasons why people should vote for him? (Please don't resort to name calling. That will get you nowhere.)

he is the only candidate willing to talk about america's real problems, one being the current government. he doesnt shy away from telling the truth about the mistakes this government has made and the liberties it has taken away from its citizens. he has actual ideas for changing the country for the better, not just talk like the others, i think he will actually change things and everyone will be able to see the change. i cant say i agree with him on everything because i dont, but i trust that he will make the country better, instead of lining his pockets with corporate money.

Simply restoring our civil rights and overturning some of the more devious executive orders, as well as bringing honesty and integrity to the White House - these alone make him worth our vote, despite what you may believe about his more radical sounding proposals. Ultimately, as Ron Paul well knows, compromise will be necessary to get things done, making some of his proposals unrealistic, at least to the extent he believes in philosophically. If that compromise means trimming the fat in Washington and protecting some vital liberties, he would be a great president on that alone, regardless if he has the political support to abolish the IRS or the CIA or any other agencies. He can check them and hold them to account for abuses and waste, which is what most Americans want anyway.

Ron Paul will:

End the war in Iraq.

Veto any bill that would raise taxes.

Stop the crazy out of control spending going on in Washington

Restore America to it's constitutional foreign policy, non-interventionism, and a humble foreign policy.\

He wants to get rid of the IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, and the Federal Reserve

He wants to make competing currency legal in the US, so that you don't have to let the Federal Reserve steal your money by printing money out of thin air.

There are many more reasons, by I'm tired of typing. Email me if you'd like more.

He's the only candidate who has proposed anything original. Everyone else is standing inside the box describing how their corner is different from every other corner.

He's well known as being honest in Washington. He practices what he preaches...he still is an Obstetrician at home while not serving in Congress. He hasn't taken a Congressional Pension. Even John McCain has called him the Most Honest Man in Congress. He takes some of the least amount of special interest money in Congress.

He believes in cutting federal government and sending powers for most things back to the States. He wants to make some radical changes, doubtful that he'd be able to do many of them, but even if he accomplished 10% of his goals, it would make a giant difference in the waste of government.

He didn't vote for the Iraq war.

I would suggest you check out www.ronpaul2008.com. It will give you a ton of reasons. However, here are my personal reasons:

1. He is pro-life
2. He is anti-war
3. He is pro fair tax
4. He is in favor of eliminating a significant portion of the federal government.
5. He believe in real ownership of private property (get rid of most eminent domain cases)

I could go on and on because I actually agree with every single one of his stances. He is also the only worthwhile Republican or Democrat running.

If you believe in cutting taxes, freedom of speech, protecting the border, not interfering in other nations affairs(unless it affects us in a negative way), cutting government bureaucracy, cutting government power to take your property then Ron Paul is for you.

he's a moderate republican..in my opinion.

He favors outlawing late term abortion but not abortion itself....and also making it a state issue not a federal one.

He wants to decrease government and government spending, as well as our military presence around the globe.

He wants us out of Iraq.

He wants to overhaul the immigration system, and is opposed to a North American Union.(google Amero)

He's never received ANY money from the healthcare lobbyists.(Clinton, Bush, and Giuliani have recieved the most.)

i'm actually starting to like him

I have not totally made up my mind about Ron Paul, but I do like Kelly B's answer because those are primary issues for me.

75% of Americans oppose illegal immigration
60% want the troops out of Iraq
100% would love not to pay income tax, or at least keep it low

Ron Paul is the only candidate who represents all of these positions. He is against illegal immigration. He wants to pull the troops out of Iraq and stop policing the world and use the saved money to lower taxes. He is most qualified to fix the economy. He is the only candidate who understands the financial disaster we are in created by irresponsible policies of "Federal" Reserve, unfair trade agreements, etc.

He's the only one actually talking about cutting the size of government and government spending.
