i am installing my audio driver but it says that "at minimum, you must have service pack 1 installed for windows xp." then, ive download service pack 2 for xp but when im trying again to install my audio driver it says again that "at minimum, you must have service pack 1 installed for windows xp." i just want to ask if ive already downloaded the service pack 2, it means that ive already installed it?? please help..

Start - Control Panel - System will tell you what service pack you are running. Service Pack 2 is more or less required for XP these days. Most likely you have SP2 installed.

Some driver installers get sloppy about looking at version numbers. Maybe you can look on the sound card manufacturer's website if a more recent driver is available.

Windows Service Pack 2 for Windows XP comes in with Service Pack 1 already built in. If you have installed Sevice Pack 1 please uninstall that and directly install service pack 2 for windows. Usually this creates no problem or any trouble.

Go to Microsoft's site and let them scan your computer they will tell you what you need.
Remember you must restart your computer for changes to take affect.
