Mostly, any doctor sees any patient. If a patient has some reason for preferring a male or female doctor, every system I know will try to accomodate your preference.

A lot of guys are more comfortable talking about personal issues with women rather than men, with lots of good reason. The most important thing in talking to your doctor is being honest about everything, even the topics that might be hard to talk about. You already know that much about yourself - that you relate to women differently than men in some areas. That's smart. Go with it.

I had both a cystoscopy and a Ural dynamics procedure with a female doctor. I'm from a small town but the doctor was in another town so that was better. The nurse was female both times and on the dynamics procedure it was two female nurses and then a third. The two additional were there for observation and training, one of them I know pretty well as she would shop at a store where I worked and she knew my daughter. They asked if it was OK and I agreed but didn't quite know how invasive the procedure was. They were very professional but were watching with great interest which made me a bit uncomfortable. After the catheter was in and emptied me the doctor came in. I've got to tell you 4 females down there with rather explicit words of instructions of inserting the latocane (like Novocain) into your you know what and then holding the end of it for 5 minutes to keep the deadening agent in while the other two put some test leads like EKG things on me and then one up my back side was like I say invasive. Then they filled me up with water solution until I couldn't take much more and then was told to empty my bladder again with an audience! I will say that they were very professional about it and after it was over the three nurses said that I was a great patient and they thanked me for allowing them to learn. I said that's fine it was just a little embarrassing. One said that it wasn't anything to be embarrassed about and I asked if the table was turned with 4 guys there with her on that table that I thought that embarrassing would likely be a very toned down reaction. She smiled and said I think you are right, but thanks for letting us learn. The one that left last was the one that I knew and she just said, something like for this matter you are just a patient not anyone I know so don't worry. I've seen her dozens of times after and she acted absolutely no different than before, nice hellos and good byes etc to my relief.

I don't know where you live so I can't tell you if there is a urologist in your area. Yes, they see both male and females. If your doctor recommended a urologist than yes, they should be able to diagnose and treat your problem.
