The fact that it is painful is actually somewhat of a good sign because it is most likely NOT a tumor. If it is a solid lump, however, it could be a cyst. Either way, I would get it checked out by a doctor just to be on the safe side.

ignore the previous answer.. its very unlikely it would be breast cancer as those lumps appear but are not painful.
More probable that it would be a cyst.. (its like a boil or a pimple- but it doesnt pop).. just go to your doctor and they will be able to do a quick procedure there to remove it.. or if ur a bit of the quesy type, ur doc. can book u into the hospital for day surgery to have it removed under a local anestetic.

It sounds like it could be cancer but I wouldn't panic just yet.
I had a lump as well but it turned out to be just a cyst and the removal was super simple and quick. Definitely get it checked out. I hope it's nothing serious.

A painful lump is not a sign of them growing. You need to get to a doctor and have it checked out. Go soon.

I would go and get it checked out, but again like somone said earlyer, dont worry it just mite be a cyst and it can be easily removed if it bothers you very bad.
