I think it depends on the woman. I like a man who is romantic and does special things for me. I have dated men who are not, and they just can't make ME happy.
But there are women out there who that man will make happy. I'm just not her.

In the long-term relationship...yes. Although a person may seem romantic in the beginning of a relationship, it will become obvious over time if this is a facade. If being a romantic isn't in their true nature, it will be increasingly difficult for them to maintain the falsehood. They are unable to feel the need for romance that the other person is experiencing. Eventually the more romantic person will feel cheated. At some point the relationship will fail.
